How to Unlock 7-Star Raids and List of Pokemon

7-Star Raids are unlocked after you complete the main story, clear the Academy Ace Tournament, and do 8-10 4-Star Raids or higher. Read on for more information about 7-Star Tera Raid Battles, what Pokemon you can fight in them, and what sorts of rewards can be obtained!

Limited-time 7-Star Raids, along with 6-Star raids, are not available until you complete the Main Story and participate in the Academy Ace Tournament for the first time.

Story Walkthrough

Jacq Will Call To Explain High Difficulty Raids

After completing the Ace Academy Tournament, Jacq will call you and talk about dangerous new Raids appearing; however, you still won't unlock access to 7-Star Raids, as you need to complete 8-10 offline or online 4-Star Raids or higher either in your game world or someone else's.

Note that there is no way to tell which Tera Crystals have 5-star raids while offline, so you will need to search until you find one.

After you've done cleared enough Tera Raids, you'll get a call from Jacq saying that 6-Star Raids have appeared in the map. At the same time, this also makes you eligible to host your own or join 7-Star Raids when an event is active!

Find 7-Star Tera Raids on the Map

Once you've fully unlocked 7-Star Tera Raids, look for black Tera Raid map icons with a purple aura surrounding them; these look similar to the 6-star raid icons, but have more sparkles and also have circles radiating out from them. These symbols indicate that there's a 7-Star raid waiting for you at that location.

7-Star Tera Raids will have you face Level 100 raid Pokemon, which makes it clear that these are the toughest Tera Raid Battles in the game!

It is recommended to bring Level 100 Pokemon that are fully EV and IV trained, with special attention given to their HP stat as fainting multiple times will quickly drain the time limit.

Tips for Training Pokemon for 7-Star Raids

1. Choose a strong Pokemon for Tera Raids
2. Get that Pokemon up to Level 100
3. Change their Nature to Adamant or Modest
4. Hyper Train your Pokemon
5. EV Train your Pokemon (252 HP + 252 Atk/SpAtk)

Obtain Pokemon Not Appearing in Paldea Pokedex

7-Star Tera Raids may also feature Pokemon that you won't normally encounter in the Paldea region and are not listed in the regional Pokedex.

This is a big chance to catch Pokemon that may be hard to get in the future, so try and participate in 7-Star Raids!

Can Only Be Caught Once Per Event

Once you capture the featured Pokemon, you can still join or host 7-Star Raids but you will not be able to catch more of them. Fret not, as you can still obtain the rewards as long as you beat the raid!

The featured Pokemon in 7-Star Raids may also come with its Hidden Ability. Several Pokemon allow for better strategies once equipped with their Hidden Abilities, so keep an eye out for them.

Available as Limited-Time Events

At the time of writing, 7-Star Raids are available as limited-time raid events and are only playable for a couple of days. 7-Star Raids will not appear at any Tera Raid Crystal on the map when there are no active events.

Update Poke Portal News When An Event is Active

If there is an active 7-Star Raid Event, you need to have the latest version of Poke Portal News in your game. This should automatically download if your Switch is connected to the Internet.

1	Press the X Button and select "Poke Portal." Make sure your Switch is connected to the internet.
2	Select "Mystery Gift."
3	Select "Check Poke Portal News."

Tera Crystal Location is Changed at the Start of a New Day

The location of 7-Star Raids will change as soon as the internal clock for your Switch hits 12 AM. This condition applies even if you change the time manually, so make use of this feature if you need more time to train your Pokemon.
