(Lv. 45) |
Since most of Tulip's Pokemon are weak against Dark types, Meowscarada's Dark type moves such as Night Slash really shine in this battle. Just remember to switch Meowscarada out against Tulip's Gardevoir and Florges, because Meowscarada takes Super Effective damage from Fairy type moves.

Skeledirge's signature move Torch Song increases its Special Attack after every use, so use this move first against Farigiraf who is immune to Ghost Type moves. Using Shadow Ball against the rest of Tulip's Pokemon after getting the Special Attack boosts can guarantee an easy win against her.

Fighting types are weak against all of Tulip's Pokemon, so keep Quaquaval benched for this fight, and let Lokix take the lead. Lokix' Dark type grants it immunity to Psychic type moves, but keep in mind its weakness to Fairy type moves. You can also Terastallize Lokix to remove its weakness against Fairy types!
Before you have the chance to face Tulip, you must first pass the Emotional Spectrum Challenge. In this test, you need to copy the emotions being shown by Dendra's Medicham, similar to a Rhythm game. Once you successfully clear the test you may challenge Tulip.
Emotional Spectrum Practice: Psychic Gym Challenge Walkthrough
Since Tulip's Pokemon are in their evolved forms, your best odds at defeating Gym Leader Tulip are to raise your Pokemon to Lv. 45 or higher, evolving those you can in the process.
Players can Terastallize their Pokemon at the very start of Gym Battes. We recommend you take advantage of Ghost and Bug Tera Types, as it will allow you to get easier one hit knock outs on Tulip's Pokemon.

Tulip's specialty are Psychic Type Pokemon, so it is a common choice to use Dark type Pokemon who are immune to Psychic attacks. To counter this, Tulip's Pokemon has moves that are Super Effective against Dark Types, such as Gallade's X-Scissor and Close Combat. Keep this in mind, especially when using Kingambit, who is 4x weak to Fighting Type moves.
Alternatively, you can use Mimikyu whose Ghost Typing allows it to be immune to Fighting Type moves and has access to the Disguise ability, which allows it to block one attack from Tulip's Pokemon. Skeledirge is also a great option if you started with Fuecoco, since it has 4x resistance to X-Scissor, and immunity to Fighting type Moves.
