This Drifblim build is not a build that can be splashed on to any team, rather it needs a team to be built with Drifblim in mind, particularly with Indeedee-F.

Fast Icy Wind is sometimes more valuable than Tailwind, as it lets you break Focus Sashes, besides reducing an opponent's Speed.

Shadow Ball is Drifblim's main STAB move which it uses to get chip damage when it needs to. Tailwind is the most important Move of the set, because it is meant to let Drifblim's team enjoy a Speed buff.

Dark Tera will let Drifblim survive a Dark or Ghost-type move, however it is rarely advisable to Terastallize Drifblim.

Other Viable Moves

Destiny Bond Because of Drifblim's high Speed Stat after Unburden, it becomes an excellent user of Destiny Bond, which allows it to take out the Pokemon knocking it out.
Will-O-Wisp Drifblim is also an effective user of Will-O-Wisp, which dampens the offensive power of opposing Physical Attackers with Burn.

How to Use Drifblim Effectively

Use Tailwind and Helping Hand to Support Teammates

Drifblim has access to Tailwind and Helping Hand, both are excellent support moves that can help your team secure important KOs.

Drifblim is best in teams that can take advantage of its Tailwind support as well as benefit from Helping Hand's damage buff.

Because Drifblim is so frail, it is best used with powerful offensive Pokemon that can quickly take out threats to Drifblim, making it so Drifblim can contribute to a match longer.

Learn What Your Leads Outspeed

Drifblim and Indeedee-F under Tailwind will be able to outspeed base 85 Pokemon and slower if the opponent also has Tailwind up.

It is important to match your opponent's Tailwind with Drifblim's as this lets Indeedee-F match speeds with the opposing side.

Icy Wind is also a good option against Pokemon Drifblim outspeeds anyways, thus a good understanding of Pokemon's Speed Tiers will help you play these Pokemon more effectively.

Have a Good Understanding of Speed

Since Sword and Shield, Speed can be calculated and changed mid-battle. This means that turn order is now dynamic instead of static like it was in older games wherein turn order was decided as soon as the turn started.

Because of how Dynamic Speed works, Prankster Tailwind will always come out first and boost the speed of its allies no matter how fast Drifblim is with Unburden. This is because Prankster gives Tailwind Priority.

Speed Explained: How Does Speed Work?

How to Build a Team with Drifblim

Drifblim is best in teams that can take advantage of its Tailwind support as well as benefit from Helping Hand's damage buff.

Physical Attacker Special Attacker
Meowscarada ImageMeowscarada Armarouge ImageArmarouge

Drifblim can set up Tailwind for a fast offensive Indeedee-F and catch unprepared teams off guard. It can further boost Indeedee-F's offense with Helping Hand.

Meowscarada and Armarouge are good Pokemon to have in the back to use against fast Ghosts and Steel-types who might give your leads a hard time. Both also benefit from Tailwind.

Counters for Drifblim

Overwhelm Drifblim with Damage

Drifblim's poor defenses make it an easy target for common high offense Pokemon, being easy to KO even with neutral hits.

It is also outsped in Tailwind by Pokemon with Base Speeds higher than Drifblim's 80, notably Gholdengo who is frequently partnered with Murkrow.
Gholdengo can outspeed and KO Drifblim with Tera Steel Make it Rain if it has Choice Specs or Life Orb under Tailwind.

Super-effective hits will also KO Drifblim outright.
