Sprigatito Type and Ability

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - SprigatitoSprigatito
Category Grass Cat Pokemon
Type Grass
Height 0.4m
Weight 4.1kg
Ability Overgrow

Sprigatito is the Grass-type Starter Pokemon. It is classified as the Grass Cat Pokemon. Its name is a portmanteau of the words sprig and gatito which is Spanish for kitten.

Like with other Grass-type Starter Pokemon, Sprigatito's Ability is Overgrow, which boosts the power of both physical and special Grass-type moves by 50% if its health is low and can be useful when it is in critical health in battles.

Sprigatito is weak against Flying and Bug-type Pokemon which you may commonly find early in the game, as it happened in previous titles. But fret not, as Sprigatito is strong against Water and Rock-type Pokemon!

Sprigatito's Final Evolution, Meowscarada

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Sprigatito
Meowscarada is Sprigatito's final evolution, and is a dual Grass/Dark Pokemon with high attack and blistering speed.

Its signature move, Flower Trick, is a powerful physical Grass attack that never misses and always lands a critical hit!

Fuecoco Type and Ability

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - FuecocoFuecoco
Category Fire Croc Pokemon
Type Fire
Height 0.4m
Weight 9.8kg
Ability Blaze

Fuecoco is the Fire-type Starter Pokemon. It is classified as the Fire Croc Pokemon. Its name is a combination of fuego, the Spanish word for fire and coco, which may be short for cocodrilo, which is Spanish for crocodile.

Similar to other Fire-type Starter Pokemon, Fuecoco's Ability is Blaze, which powers up its physical and special Fire-type moves by 50% if its health is low and can be useful when it is in critical health in battles.

Fuecoco is weak against Water and Rock-type Pokemon, which are Pokemon that you may encounter early in the game. Worry not, as Fuecoco is strong against Grass and Bug-type Pokemon!

Fuecoco's Final Evolution, Skeledirge

Skeledirge ImageSkeledirge

Skeledirge is Fuecoco's final evolution, and is a dual Fire/Ghost Pokemon boasting high physical bulk and Special Attack.

It's signature move, Torch Song, is a strong special Fire attack that also boosts Skeledirge's Special Attack by 1 stage!

Fuecoco - Type, Evolution, and Ability

Quaxly Type and Ability

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - QuaxlyQuaxly
Category Duckling Pokemon
Type Water
Height 0.5m
Weight 6.1kg
Ability Torrent

Quaxly is the Water-type Starter Pokemon. It is classified as the Duckling Pokemon. Its name is a play on the words quack and aqua; the word waxy can also be heard in its name, alluding to its tendency to keep its coiffed hair slick and tidy!

Quaxly's Ability is Torrent, which is similar to other Water-type Starter Pokemon. This Ability boosts Quaxly's physical and special Water-type moves by 50% if its health is low, which can be useful when it is in critical health in battles.

Quaxly may have some trouble against certain Pokemon that will appear at the beginning of the game as it is weak against Grass-type moves. It is strong, however, against Rock-type Pokemon!

Quaxly's Final Evolution, Quaquaval

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Quaxly

Quaquaval is Quaxly's final evolution, and is a dual Water/Fighting Pokemon with a very high Attack stat and respectable Speed.

Its signature move, Aqua Step, is a strong physical Water attack that also boosts Quaquaval's Speed stat by 1 stage!
