Sound-based moves use sound as a way to inflict damage or its effect onto a Pokemon. These moves can be affected by items such as Throat Spray, negated by abilities like Soundproof or moves like Throat Chop, and boosted by abilities like Punk Rock.

Note that sound-based moves can hit through Substitute!
