You can earn lots of money by using the Picnic Item Farm Glitch in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)! Read on to learn what the Picnic Item Farm glitch is, and the steps to do the Picnic Item Farm glitch!
List of Contents
The Picnic Item Farm Glitch exists due to how the game is programmed to generate eggs or items from the Picnic Basket. The Picnic basket is designed to check
for eggs every 10 minutes when you don't have an Egg Power Meal Power, and during this check, it can pick up
a hidden item nearby and allow the player to collect it instead.
The Glitch works by tricking the code into thinking that your Pokemon should produce an egg, and since you are directly on top of a hidden item, the game prioritizes the item to be sent to the basket instead,
How to Get More Eggs During Picnics
1 | ![]() Turn off Autosaving through the Options Menu. |
---|---|
2 | ![]() Go to the Asado Desert and look for items on the ground that sparkle. Make sure the item's on an even enough surface so you can lay down a picnic table. |
3 | ![]() Pick the items up to check what they are, but save your game before you do so. Do this so if you pick the item up and it turns out to be a Star Piece, you only need to quit the game and open your previous save to have it back on the ground again. |
4 | ![]() Once you find a Star Piece, get ready to lay down your picnic table. The Egg Basket must cover the sparkling item on the ground for this exploit to work. |
5 | ![]() Make a Great Peanut Butter Sandwich. This sandwich increases your Egg Power, which affects the chances of finding Star Pieces in the Egg Basket. If you don't have the Great Peanut Butter sandwich recipe yet, just combine Bananas, Butter, and Peanut Butter in Creative Mode. |
6 | ![]() Wait. Once you've eaten the sandwich, wait for a while before Star Pieces start appearing in your Egg Basket. |
7 | ![]() Enjoy your new Star Piece/Item Farm. While waiting for more Star Pieces, you can leave the game running on the Switch and do something else in the meantime as items accumulate in the egg basket. We recommend using a timer so you can keep track of when the effects of the Great Peanut Butter Sandwich have worn off after 30 minutes. Once they do, make another Great Peanut Butter Sandwich. |
By collecting Stardust specifically, you can make lots of money by selling these items in bulk after farming enough items from the Picnic Glitch.
This can be especially useful after you finish the game, since EV Training Competitive and Raid Pokemon can become quite expensive if you plan on using Vitamins.
Time Required | Earnings |
---|---|
30 Minutes | ₽66,000 to ₽102,000 (based on testing) |
1 Hour | ₽132,000 to ₽204,000 (estimated) |
2 Hours | ₽264,000 to ₽408,000 (estimated) |
3 Hours | ₽396,000 to ₽612,000 (estimated) |
Money Farming Guide: How to Make Money Fast
One downside when using this exploit is that it will take up quite some time to farm enough items to make a profit.
Leaving the Nintendo Switch on for prolonged periods of time can cause various problems, such as memory leak, or overheating.
Since Meal Powers only last for 30 minutes, you cannot leave your Switch on overnight to rack up a huge profit from the Picnic Item Farm.
This also means that you have to prepare enough Ingredients beforehand, depending on how long you plan to use the Picnic Item Farm Glitch.
The Picnic Item Farm Glitch exists due to an oversight with how the game was programmed, so there should be no reason for players to be banned from doing so. It also does not give players an unfair advantage. This glitch, however, is likely to be fixed in a future update.
