Pokeball IconIts Speed lets it take advantage of Dark Pulse's ability to flinch giving you free turns.

While its signature ability Bad Dreams has no useful effect in Tera Raids, Darkrai still has amazing offensive capabilities that is only made better by having access to Nasty Plot.

Combined with Double Team and Dark Pulse's chance to flinch, the Raid Boss should have trouble landing a hit with this build.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting Darkrai with a Dark Tera Type to increase the damage of Dark Pulse. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would work best for this Pokemon.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's HP and Sp.Atk stats. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Sp. Def. Equip the Pokemon with a Shell Bell to give it passive healing when it uses an attacking move.

Tera Raid Strategy

Darkrai Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Optional Use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using Status moves.
Turn 1~3 Use Nasty Plot to boost Darkrai's Special Attack
Optional Use Double Team to score some free turns from the Raid Boss.
Turns 4~6 Use Dark Pulse to build up Tera Orb Charges.
Turns 8+ Terastallize and use Dark Pulse until the Raid Boss is defeated. Feel free to reset any buffs you might have lost.

Start the raid by setting up Nasty Plot to boost Darkrai's Sp. Atk. to +6. You can also use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using Status moves or Double Team to score some free turns from the Raid Boss.

With maxed out Special Attack, Darkrai's Dark Pulse will make quick work out of the Raid Boss.

Finish The Darksome Nightmare Quest in Legends: Arceus

Pokemon Legends: Arceus The Darksome Nightmare

A short cutscene will play out once you reach Darkrai's location. Prepare to fight and weaken it to increase your chances of capturing it.

This request will only be available after completing the main story of the game. You also need to have a save file from either Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl in your Nintendo Switch and load up Pokemon Legends: Arceus on the same account as that save data.

EV train Darkrai according to the build's EV spread using Vitamins, Mochis, or the traditional way with Power Items and battling Pokemon with the right EV yield.

Vitamins can be bought at any Chansey Supply shop and it will cost you ₽530,000 to fully train a Pokemon. Meanwhile, Mochi can be obtained through the Ogre Oustin' Minigame.

Dark Tera Special Attacker

If you have the money for it, you can just buy 26 HP Up (for HP), 26 Calcium (for Sp. Atk), and 1 Iron (for Def). You can also use the respective Mochi if you prefer.

Alternatively, you can use Power Items that you can buy at a Delibird Presents shop for ₽10,000 each. Have your Pokemon hold the respective Power Item while defeating the Pokemon listed below.

After EV training it, head to Montenevera and talk to the man with an Abomasnow near the Pokemon Center. He will hyper train your Pokemon using Bottle Caps.

A Bottle Cap can be bought at the Delibird Presents shops for ₽20,000 after getting 6 Gym Badges. 1 Bottle Cap is needed for each stat that will be maxed out.
