Pokemon Without Any EVs Should Have a Dark Yellow Hexagon

Clodsire with random EVs.

When you first hatch or catch a Pokemon, they shouldn't have any EVs yet. Instead, the base stats will be displayed and indicated by the dark yellow shape inside the graph.

As you continue to defeat enemy Pokemon and earn more EVs, a bright yellow hexagon will grow accordingly based on which stats you've been farming.

Once a certain stat has earned the maximum EVs allowed, its name will sparkle.

Stats that have sparkles (✦) around it mean that the EVs for that stat are maxed out, and you can not earn any more EVs for that stat.

A single Pokemon can have a total of 510 EVs, spread across all stats, with each stat having a max limit of 252 EVs. There's no way to check the exact number of EVs you still have left to gain, but if the graph turns a light blue that means all EVs are maxed.
