Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Max Attack and Speed EVs
Check EVs of a Pokemon by going to their Stats on their Summary page and pressing the X button. Read on to learn how to check EVs and how to tell if EVs are maxed in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV).

How to Check EVs

How to Check EVs
1
Access the Summary Page on your Selected Pokemon
2
Go to the second tab to see its stats—HP, Attack, Sp. Attack, Defense, and Sp. Def—laid out on a radar graph.
3
Press the L button to see how much EVs the Pokemon has gained in each stat. The radar graph will turn a dark yellow when checking the EVs per stat.

Pokemon Without Any EVs Should Have a Dark Yellow Hexagon

Clodsire with random EVs.

When you first hatch or catch a Pokemon, they shouldn't have any EVs yet. Instead, the base stats will be displayed and indicated by the dark yellow shape inside the graph.

The Bright Yellow Shape Grows as You Earn EVs

As you continue to defeat enemy Pokemon and earn more EVs, a bright yellow hexagon will grow accordingly based on which stats you've been farming.

Once a certain stat has earned the maximum EVs allowed, its name will sparkle.

Shape Becomes Light Blue Once You Have Reached the Maximum EVs

The Bright Yellow shape turns Light Blue once you've allocated all EVs possible for that Pokemon. This Pokemon won't earn any more EVs unless you use EV-Reducing Berries to make room for stat adjustments.

Check the Yellow Sparkles Near the Stat Names

Stats that have sparkles (✦) around it mean that the EVs for that stat are maxed out, and you can not earn any more EVs for that stat.

A single Pokemon can have a total of 510 EVs, spread across all stats, with each stat having a max limit of 252 EVs. There's no way to check the exact number of EVs you still have left to gain, but if the graph turns a light blue that means all EVs are maxed.

But what does the dark yellow graph mean? Not the yellow/blue on top. Its different than both the EV graph and the base stat graph.
