Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) features a day and night cycle that passes as you play and progress through the game. Read on to learn about how to change the in-game time of day and make it night time!
List of Contents
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's day and night cycle is based on the Nintendo Switch's system clock. However, unlike previous titles, the in-game time cycles between dawn, day, dusk, and night every 72 minutes. This means there are approximately 20 Paldean days for every 24 hours we have in real life.
Since a day in Paldea is approximately 72 real-life minutes, you can simply move your console's system clock 36 minutes forward to change the time of day from morning to night and vice versa.
How to Change In-Game Time | |
---|---|
1 | Close the game and go to your Nintendo Switch's System Settings. |
2 | Go to "Date and Time" and turn off "Synchronize Clock via Internet". |
3 | Move the clock forward 36 minutes and open the game again. The in-game time should now be changed! |
If you don't like the idea of changing your console's time and date just to change the in-game time, you can simply wait it out for around 36 minutes. This gives you plenty of time to explore the region!
Note that sleeping in your bed inside the Academy's dorms does not affect the time of day, and only recovers the health and PP of your Pokemon.
The Weather tends to change every 5-6 minutes. During heavy snow or sandstorms, you may want to wait it out for some time so that you can resume your adventure in clear weather!
