The DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, was announced in the latest February 27 Pokemon Presents!
This will be a two-part DLC; the first expansion is called The Teal Mask and was released on September 13, 2023, while the second expansion is called The Indigo Disk and will be released on December 14, 2023.

September 13, 2023 | December 14, 2023 |
The official release date of December 14, 2023 for The Indigo Disk, part 2 of the DLC, was revealed by the Pokemon official Twitter account on November 1, 2023.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero can now be pre-purchased on the Nintendo E-Shop for $34.99. Players who purchase the DLC as early as now will receive the Pre-Order bonuses, but will have to wait for the release to play the new content.
DLC Preorder Bonuses
To avoid problems when purchasing the DLC, make sure to select the correct item from the shop. If you already own a copy of either Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, make sure to purchase the DLC only, which is $34.99. Buying the base game and DLC bundle may result in having an extra copy of the game on your account, which could further complicate things on your end.
The first expansion for the DLC is called The Teal Mask and was released on September 13, 2023.
The Teal Mask offers a new adventure where you'll be joining an outdoors study program in the Land of Kitakami held jointly between their academy and another school.

Mossui Town is kind of like your Home Town away from home, while on your school trip in Kitakami! The town appears to be buzzing with energy, activities and Pokemon, and rich in culture and tradition!

The second expansion for the DLC is called The Indigo Disk and is set to release on December 14, 2023.
The Indigo Disk will follow your character as an exchange student at the Blueberry Academy.
The Indigo Disk DLC Part 2 Release Date and New Pokemon
The Terarium is an undersea artificial ecosystem that is cleanly divided into what appears to be 4 major habitats. The area seems quite expansive, so it should be a challenge to discover everything that awaits!

Paradox Cobalion (Iron Crown) |
New Paradox forms for Raikou and Cobalion have been revealed, with Paradox Raikou (Raging Bolt) appearing in Pokemon Scarlet, and Paradox Cobalion (Iron Crown) appearing in Pokemon Violet.
Dipplin | Archaludon |
Two new Paldea-exclusive evolutions of existing Pokemon, Dipplin, an evolution of Applin, and Archaludon, an evolution of Duraludon, have been confirmed.
Okidogi | Munkidori | Fezandipiti |
Along with the Legendary Pokemon, three new Pokémon named Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti are confirmed to appear in the DLC.
Ogerpon | Terapagos |
The main legendaries of the DLC, Ogerpon will appear in Part 1: The Teal Mask, while Terapagos will appear in Part 2: The Indigo Disk. Each of them has been revealed to have a special Tera Form unlike those used by other Pokemon.

Version Exclusive Pokemon have also been confirmed for the DLC, with the Aipom line exclusive to Violet and the Gligar line only found in Pokemon Scarlet.
All New and Returning DLC Pokemon
The Pokemon that have been showcased in the Teal Mask trailer shows off multiple Pokemon that were introduced in Japanese inspired regions like Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh.
Kitakami is shown to also be home to regular Wooper, instead of the Paldean Variant. Other Pokemon like Senzu Style Oricorio can also be found in the wild, which aren't available in Paldea naturally.
As seen in the Indigo Disk trailer, one of the biomes in the Terarium are shown to be able to support wild Alolan Exeggutor. This could mean each biome could allow you to get rare regional forms for Pokemon without the need to Transfer Pokemon.

The livestream showcased a Milotic that knows the move Scald, a move it can only learn via TR in Sword and Shield.
Due to the fact that Scald is not a TM anymore, The Indigo Disk could introduce a way to connect with Pokemon HOME to learn moves it cannot naturally learn in Paldea.

These new Pokemon and their evolutionary relatives are coming in the DLC as shown in the first reveal of the DLC back at February.
It's also been confirmed that players can encounter over 230 familiar Pokémon
from other regions that have not yet appeared in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Kieran | Carmine |
Kieran and Carmine are two of the new characters that will be introduced in the DLC. Showcased in the February Pokemon Presents, they appear in the promotional images of both The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.
As seen in the June 25 Pokemon Direct, Kieran and Carmine are the first two people you see in Kitakami at the start of The Teal Mask.
Perrin is a travelling photographer who has arrived in Kitakami in search of a certain Pokemon in the Timeless Woods. She seems to look similar to another character from the past, could this be linked to Kitakami having Hisuian Pokemon?

Cyrano | Briar |
Kieran and Briar are two of the new faculty members who work at Blueberry Academy. They seem to act as your guide in Blueberry Academy and Kitakami respectively.
The Indigo Disk features a brand-new Elite Four, each with their own Elite Trial. Collectively they're known as the BB League, short for Blueberry League. Each of the four biomes of the Terarium hosts one of the members of the BB League Elite Four, so players must travel to each of the four areas and fight the Elite Four member there to progress the Indigo Disk's storyline.
BB League Elite Four Members and Pokemon
Based on the quality and amount of content, it can be one of the highest-achieving DLCs Pokemon has seen. Furthermore, the DLC is battle-centric; it provides a significant challenge by emphasizing a battle format not commonly explored by past titles, double battles!
The Indigo Disk DLC also experimented on fan-requested features such as being a Pokemon, customizing your base, and much more!
The Indigo Disk DLC Post Game Content
In order to access the Epilogue of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, one must finish both DLCs. This incentivizes players to invest in both The Teal Mask and Indigo Disk DLCs to get proper closure of the story.
If you are not quite satisfied with how the base game ends, the expansions are entirely worth it apart from the Epilogue!
