Shell Bell |
Rain Dish and Shell Bell lets it heal off a good chunk of damage. Access to Shell Smash making it a decent Mixed Attacker. Works well with Water Raid Teams thanks to its amazing sustain. |
With a fairly decent balance in attacking and defensive stats, Blastoise is flexible enough to be built either Physical or Special. This Blastoise capitalizes on the move Weather Ball to make it a super powerful Special Attacker thanks to its 100 base power under rain.
We also recommend getting a Blastoise with a Water Tera Type to boost the power of Weather Ball . As a Special Attacker, Modest nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards Bulky Offense. Max out your HP and Sp. Atk EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Sp. Def. Give it a Shell Bell to keep its HP topped up.
Blastoise Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Rain Dance to buff your Water-Type Moves and accrue some passive healing while setting up. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Shell Smash to max out your Sp.Atk. |
Rain is Removed | Use Rain Dance again to to set Rain back up. |
Low HP Turns | Use Life Dew to heal the party back up. |
Turns 5+ | Use Weather Ball to Build your Tera Orb Charge and heal up any damage you recieve. Terastallize when you can. |
Buff are Removed | Use Haze to remove the lowered Sp,Def and Def stats. |
This strategy capitalize on using Shell Smash to easily max out your Sp. Atk and using Life Dew to heal allies. Alternatively Haze is a valid option so you don't sit with more Def reductions while setting Shell Smash back up
Rain Dance is used in two ways, to heal yourself and also boosting your own Weather Ball or Scald's damage.

This Blastoise Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Fire, Ground and Rock Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Grass or Electric Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Blastoise will be weak to these Types as a Water-Type attacker.
