Double Battle Tips

Defeat the Strongest Opponent First

We recommend taking down or neutralizing your strongest opponent first to prevent it from sweeping your entire team. Having two of your Pokemon on the field attack the threat in succession withinin 1 round can reduce its HP significantly or even take it down for good.

NPC Partner Heals and Fights Alongside You

Pokemon BDSP Double Battle

During the main storyline, you'll encounter double battles where you'll be partnered up with an NPC (such as your rival). When this happens, you'll only be able to control 1 Pokemon on your side, even when your partner's Pokemon faints.

If you do a Double Battle with an NPC partner, you'll have your party of up to 6 Pokemon plus their Pokemon.

It's acceptable to let NPC Pokemon faint

It's generally okay to let your NPC partner faint, as their Pokemon is fully restored for the next battle.
