You will be able to get Shiny Chesnaught in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) via breeding and hatching a Shiny Chespin, but not through the raid event as it is Shiny-locked. Read on to learn how to get a Shiny Chesnaught and more!

You can obtain a Shiny Chesnaught in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet if you breed the raid Chesnaught after catching it and aim to hatch a Shiny Chespin.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Chesnaught Tera Raid Event

Chesnaught's 7-Star Raid is shiny-locked as it was with previous 7-Star Tera Raid Events.

You can still get a Shiny Chesnaught if you catch it in the raid, breed and hatch for a Shiny Chespin and evolve it, although it will not have the Mightiest Mark.

As previously mentioned, Chesnaught obtained outside of the Tera Raid Event, which is via breeding, are not Shiny-locked, which means that you always have a chance to obtain one.

Shiny-Locked Pokemon are Pokemon that have been programmed to never be shiny. This is often done to special Pokemon, potentially to make their Shiny forms even rarer.

Pokemon from 7-Star Raids, such as the Unrivaled Charizard and Unrivaled Cinderace, have been shiny-locked thus far.

You may consider delaying catching it and holding off until you encounter the shiny since you are only limited to one catch. This would be a mistake however as these raids are shiny locked.

You are however able to breed for a Shiny provided the raid boss is not in the Undiscovered Egg Group.
