Booster Energy |
Iron Hands only comes with one ability, Quark Drive. This ability boosts a Pokemon's highest stat by a whopping 30% when holding a Booster Energy or when Electric Terrain is active. This makes an Attack focused Iron Hands capable of dealing significant amounts of damage to opposing Pokemon.
We recommend getting an Iron Hands with a Fighting Tera Type because of the boost it gives to its Fighting-type STAB. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would suit it best.
Iron Hands' EV spread should lean toward offense, maxing out Attack EVs and putting a considerable number of EVs into both Special Defense and HP. Add the rest of the EVs into Sp. Def and Speed.
Iron Hands Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Belly Drum to raise Iron Hands' Attack stat by 6 stages. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Drain Punch to recover your missing HP. Use Thunder Punch when applicable.. |
Turns 5+ | Terastallize and use Close Combat. Note that Close Combat will lower Iron Hands' Defense and Sp. Def by one stage, though. Recover your HP with Drain Punch as needed. |
Start the Tera Raid Battle by using Belly Drum to raise Iron Hands' Attack by 6 stages before attacking with a Drain Punch to recover your missing HP.
Use Thunder Punch and Close Combat when it is safe to do so, and recover with Drain Punch as needed. This build provides survivability, while also highlighting Iron Hands' immense offensive capabilities.

Shell Bell |
This Iron Hands build is specialized to counter Flying-type Pokemon in Tera Raids.
This Iron Hands build will not be utilizing the Belly Drum strategy as this only leaves Iron Hands vulnerable if the raid boss can use powerful physical attacks.
The build instead takes a less risky but still effective approach. It also baits the raid boss to reset everyone's stats before using Swords Dance to boost Iron Hands' Attack. Its main move will be Thunder Punch, which you can boost with Electric Terrain on top of the stat boost from Quark Drive.
Letting Iron Hands have an Adamant Nature will shape it to be an effective physical attacker, with Shell Bell as its held item to recover lost health.
Iron Hands Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Thunder Punch to deal Super Effective damage. |
Optional | Use Electric Terrain to boost Wild Charge's damage output. |
Turns 2 | Use Swords Dance to raise Iron Hands' Attack stat. Be sure to do this after the raid boss resets your side's stats. |
Turn 3+ | Use Thunder Punch to deal Super Effective damage. |
Start the battle by using Thunder Punch to immediately deal damage to the raid boss. You can also opt to deal damage using Rock Tomb early on, to reduce raid Pokemon's speed, allowing you to Attack before it.
Ideally, having a teammate set up Electric Terrain would be best so you can focus on dealing damage with Thunder Punch, but when playing solo, you can set it up yourself to boost your damage output.
Since this build makes use of Swords Dance and Thunder Punch, the drawback is that you will not be hitting as hard as you would if you were running Belly Drum.
How to Make Best Iron Hands Tera Raid Build |
---|
|
You can catch an Iron Hands with a Electric Tera Type along the cliffs in Area Zero.
Make sure to bring a Pokemon that has False Swipe and can inflict a status effect to make it easier to catch.
If it has a different nature, you can use an Adamant Mint to change its nature to Adamant.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
If you have the money for it, you can just buy 26 Protein (for Atk), 17 Iron (for Def) or Zinc (for Sp. Def), and 8 HP Up. All of these items can be bought at a Chansey Supply shop and it will cost you ₽510,000 in total.
Alternatively, you can use Power Items that you can buy at a Delibird Presents shop for ₽10,000 each. Have your Pokemon hold the respective Power Item while defeating the Pokemon listed below.

After EV training it, head to Montenevera and talk to the man with an Abomasnow near the Pokemon Center. He will hyper train your Pokemon using Bottle Caps.
A Bottle Cap can be bought at the Delibird Presents shops for ₽20,000 after getting 6 Gym Badges. 1 Bottle Cap is needed for each stat that will be maxed out.
Hyper Training: How to Increase IVs
Next, level it up to 100 to maximize its stats. The easiest way to do this is by farming Exp candies from Tera Raid Battles.

Lastly, give it a Shell Bell to improve its bulk. You can buy a Shell Bell from Delibird Presents shop for ₽20,000.
If you can't get a Shell Bell, we instead recommend either getting a Booster Energy. The Booster Energy powers up Iron Hands' Attack Stat at the beginning of a battle without the need of setting up Electric Terrain. This item can be found in the Great Crater of Paldea, during the final storyline.
