The latest card expansion Celestial Guardians (A3) has been released in Pokemon TCG Pocket last April 30, 2025! This two-pack set revolves around Pokemon and Trainers from the Alola Region.

The introduction of Rare Candy in Celestial Guardians shifts the meta in favor of Stage 2 Pokemon. Previously, the biggest drawback towards Stage 2 Pokemon had been its slow set-up. Combined with the Battle RNG, Stage 2 Pokemon don't usually make an appearance until the late game.
Now, Basic Pokemon can immediately evolve into Stage 2 Pokemon thanks to the effects of Rare Candy.
Additionally, Celestial Guardians has introduced Pom-Pom Oricorio into the meta, which is immune to attacks from ex Pokemon.
With these new cards added to the game, you can expect to see more decks featuring Stage 2 Pokemon and non-ex cards in the current meta.

Trading is now available for the Shining Revelry (A2b) expansion, allowing you to trade cards like Beedrill ex, Giratina ex, and Gimmighoul if you are aiming to complete the Secret Mission.
Previously, trading was only limited until the Triumphant Light booster packs, but it was stated by the Pokemon Team that they would continue to expand the trading function by expansion.
