Diamond Dust is a special weather phenomenon that occurs during snowy weather and appears randomly in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on for more information about Diamond Dust and how to spawn it!
List of Contents
Diamond Dust is a special weather phenomenon that replaces the snowy weather in the overworld. When Diamond Dust is active, snowflakes will glitter in the sky as they fall to the ground.
Note that Diamond Dust does not have any in-battle effects, as the weather will still be Snowscape. This weather phenomenon is purely a visual treat!
The Diamond Dust weather phenomenon is an easter egg that has appeared several times in previous games. This first appeared in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, where the snow in Snowpoint City sparkled on January 12, which was Junichi Masuda's birthday.
When Diamond Dust is present, snowflakes will glitter and will almost fill the sky as they fall. This is visually different from regular snowy weather, where only a handful of flakes fall from the sky.
Diamond Dust can appear randomly during snowy weather on random dates. However, there are special days where it always appears.
Naturally, it should also be snowing for Diamond Dust to appear. It will not occur when the weather is sunny or cloudy, for example.

Weather Effects and How to Change the Weather
1 | Head to a snowy area found north of Paldea. You can fly to any locations found around Glaseado Mountain, namely Montenevera, Glaseado Gym, and the like. |

2 | Save the game and close it. |
3 | Open the game and check the weather. Reset until Diamond Dust appears. Diamond Dust has a distinct visual effect which you can easily identify when looking at the sky. If you have regular snow, close the game and launch it until you get Diamond Dust! Note that you do not need to change the date or time, simplay relaunching the game will do the trick. |

I had a fairy encounter lvl2 sandwich buff active with 20 minutes remaining. Diamond dust weather started, and immediately I stopped seeing fairy types spawn. It seems like diamond dust breaks the effects of active sandwich buffs. Has anyone else had a similar or contrasting experience?
