Shell Bell |
The best ability for Alolan Muk in Tera Raid Battles is Poison Touch. This doesn't have much effect for the raid, as none of its abilities are particularly useful against the Raid Boss.
We also recommend getting a Alolan Muk with a Poison Tera Type to further boost Muk's Poison-type attacks. As a Special attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your Special Defense and Special Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into HP. Shell Bell gives Muk passive healing when it uses an attacking move.
Alolan Muk Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turns 1~3 | Use Minimize to prevent the Raid Boss from being able to hit you with its attacks. |
Turns 4~7 | Use any of your attacking moves and build Tera Orb charge. |
Turns 8~10 | Use Acid Spray three times to fully shred the Raid Boss's Sp.Def after it sets up its shield. |
Low HP and Burned Turns | Use Heal Up! Cheer to gain back some HP and remove your status condition. |
Turns 11+ | If you're still healthy and have your buffs, use Sludge Bomb as your main attacking move. When the Raid Boss gets poisioned, use Venoshock to do more damage. |
Optional | When your HP is high enough and the Raid Boss resets its stats, use Acid Spray to lower its Sp.Def again or set up MInimize again after it wipes your stat changes. |
This Alolan Muk build focuses on using Minimize so that it can't hit you with Fire Blast or Will-O-Wisp.
After that attack with any move 3 times to get Tera Charge. At this point the opponent will likely set up its Shield and wipe its debuffs, you can then use Acid Spray 3 times to fully shred the Raid Boss's Sp.Def.
If you're still healthy and have your buffs, Terastallize and use Sludge Bomb, or Venoshock if its Poisoned.
Once it gets down to about half HP it will reset your Evasiveness buff, but you'll get to attack for 2 turns in a row, so you'll need to make a decision based on its remaining HP.
Damage Dealt by Alolan Muk |
|
---|---|
Sludge Bomb (Poison Tera) 1096 ~ 1292 (12.5 ~ 14.7%) |
|
Venoshock (Poison Tera) 1584 ~ 1864 (18.1 ~ 21.3%) |
Using this strategy it should take approximately 14~17 turns to take out 7-Star Raid Bosses. More turns may be required, depending on when the Raid Boss will put up its shield and reset stat changes.

Shell Bell |
The best ability for Alolan Muk in Tera Raid Battles is Poison Touch. This allows Muk to poison the Raid boss without the need to allot a moveslot for a move for this purpose.
We also recommend getting a Alolan Muk with a Poison Tera Type to further boost Muk's Poison-type attacks. As a Physical attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.

Alolan Muk Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using Status Moves. |
Turns 2~7 | Use Screech and Poison Jab alternately to shred the opponent's defense and build Tera Orb charge respectively. |
Low HP Turns | Use Drain Punch to gain back some HP. |
Turns 8+ | Terastallize and keep using Poison Jab. |
Optional | When your HP is high enough and the Tera Shield isn't up, use Screech. |
This Alolan Muk build focuses on its high Attack stat combined with Screech and Poison Jab to deal huge damage to the opposing Pokemon. Poison Jab's chance to poison and the ability Poison Touch also allows it to deal chip damage to the raid boss.
Drain Punch is used when you are in a pinch and just need a bit more HP to survive. Alternatively, instead of Poison Jab, you can opt for Gunk Shot for more damage in exchange for a bit of accuracy. Taunt is then used to round out the kit to prevent the opponent from using Status moves.
Super Effective Damage Dealt by Alolan Muk |
|
---|---|
Poison Jab(+2 Atk, Poison Tera) 2,768 ~ 3,260 (45.3 ~ 53.4%) |
Super Effective (2x) |
|
---|---|
Not Very Effective (x0.5) | |
No Effect (x0) |
This Alolan Muk Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Grass and Fairy Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Ground Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Alolan Muk will be weak to these Types as a Poison-Type attacker.
