What Are Ribbons?

Cosmetic Items That Provide Titles

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Cosmetic Items That Provide Titles
Marks and Ribbons are unique items that are randomly tied to caught Pokemon or obtained from different goals, tasks, and events. When a Mark or Ribbon is placed onto a Pokemon, it provides them with a unique title.

Note that these Marks and Ribbons, and the titles they provide, are purely cosmetic and provide no gameplay benefits.

Change Ribbons in the Summary Menu

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Change Ribbons in the Summary Menu
You can change a Pokemon's Marks and Ribbons by opening its Status Summary screen and navigating to the Memories tab. Pressing A in this tab will allow you to swap between the Pokemon's currently held Marks and Ribbons.
