Offensively, Kingambit can set up with Swords Dance to boost its own Attack stat, and Taunt to prevent raid bosses from using status moves.
After setting up, Kingambit can deal damage with Iron Head and overwhelm the Raid Boss with super-effective damage.
As it will play the role of physical attacker, an Adamant Nature would benefit Kingambit. You can also let it hold a Shell Bell to help it recover some HP when using attacking moves.
Its Defiant Ability allows Kingambit to gain multiple Attack boosts from being debuffed.
Kingambit Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Optional | Use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using status moves. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Swords Dance to maximize Kingambit's Attack stat. You may only need to use it twice if the raid boss tries to debuff you on the first turn. |
Turns 5~7 | After the raid boss resets Kingambit's stats, use Swords Dance again to regain Attack boosts. |
Turns 8+ | Use Iron Head to deal super-effective damage. Terastallize when you can to increase damage output. |
At the start of the raid, the raid boss may use a debuffing move as its first move, aiming to lower Kingambit's Attack stat only for it to be cancelled out with its Defiant Ability. This can be helpful at the initial part of the raid.
You can then follow this up with Swords Dance until you max out your Attack boosts, then deal damage with Iron Head until Inteleon resets your stat boosts.
After your stats are reset, set up Swords Dance again, then use Iron Head to deal damage and charge up your Tera Orb. Once charged, Terastallize and keep attacking with a boosted Iron Head.

This Kingambit Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Ice, Rock, and Fairy Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Fighting Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Kingambit will be weak to these Types as a Fire Type attacker.

The best ability for Kingambit in Tera Raid Battles is Defiant by increasing its attack by two stages when Kingambit's stats get lowered. This makes Kingambit a durable attacker.
We also recommend getting a Kingambit with a Tera Dark Type because it utilizes Kingambit's STAB and gives boost for both Sucker Punch and Kowtow Cleave moves for damage. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards making Kingambit a durable attacker by increasing its HP and Attack. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. Let Kingambit hold an Expert Belt to slightly boost its Super Effective Moves.
Set up the stage for Swords Dance to increase the attack by 2 stages. Follow up with Iron Head which gives 30% chance of causing the opponent to flinch.
This enables higher damage using Sucker Punch which damages the opponent if they're about to use a damaging move (but could fail if they don't use a damaging move), and finish it off with the move that doesn't miss, Kowtow Cleave.

Shell Bell |
This Kingambit build is specialized to counter Flying-type Pokemon in Tera Raids.
The best Ability for Kingambit is Defiant which increases its Attack by two stages whnever its stats get lowered.
Its natural bulk coupled with its resistances and immunity makes it a great set up attacker against several Pokemon.
We also recommend getting a Kingambit with an Electric Tera Type to make Tera Blast an Electric-type move after Terastallizing. Since it's a physical attacker, an Adamant nature is best to boost its offenses.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. Shell Bell gives Kingambit passive healing when it uses an attacking move.

Turns 2~4 | Use Swords Dance to maximize Kingambit's Attack. |
Turns 5~7 | Use Rock Tomb to deal Super Effective damage while building up Tera Orb charge. |
Turns 8+ | Once you get enough Tera charge, Terastallize and use Electric-type Tera Blast. |
You can either start the Tera Raid battle by using Iron Defense to reduce incoming damage, or go straight to using Swords Dance to boost your own attack. After getting +6 to your Attack stat, use Rock Tomb to reduce the raid boss' Speed while also building up your own Tera Orb charge.
Once you are able to, Terastallize and use Electric-type Tera Blast to deal Super Effective damage.

The best Ability for Kingambit is Defiant which increases its Attack by two stages whnever its stats get lowered.
Its natural bulk coupled with its resistances and immunity makes it a great set up attacker to use in Tera Raids.
We also recommend getting a Kingambit with a Psychic Tera Type to boost the power of Zen Headbutt. Since it's a physical attacker, an Adamant nature is best to boost its offenses.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Shell Bell gives Kingambit passive healing when it uses an attacking move.

Turns 5+ | Once you get enough Tera charge, Terastallize into a Psychic-type to deal boosted damage with Zen Headbutt. |
Start the Tera Raid battle by setting up with Swords Dance twice to boost Kingambit's Attack by four stages. Use Thunder Wave to paralyze the opponent and cut its Speed in half. Once the Raid boss is paralyzed, use Zen Headbutt and Night Slash to deal super-effective damage.
With a full Tera Orb charge, terastallize into a Psychic-type to deal boosted damage with Zen Headbutt.
How to Make Best Kingambit Tera Raid Build |
---|
|
Since Kingambit is an Evolution Exclusive Pokemon, you need to evolve a Bisharp after defeating 3 other Bisharps who are holding a Leader's Crest. You will know a Bisharp has a Leader's Crest if the Bisharp is surrounded by a group of Pawniards. They are located in North Province Area Two.
For some of the builds that require Kingambit to have a different Tera Type, such as Electric or Psychic, you will need to have 50 Tera Shards of that type, and bring it to Medali to have your Pokemon's Tera Type changed.
If it has a different nature, you can use an Adamant Mint to change its nature to Adamant.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
If its ability is different from our recommendation, you can use an Ability Capsule to change it.
This item can be bought at Chansey Supply shops for ₽100,000.
Ability Capsule Location and How to Get
If you have the money for it, you can just buy 26 Protein (for Atk), 26 HP Up (for HP), and 1 Iron (for Def), or 1 Zinc (for Sp. Def), depending on the build. All of these items can be bought at a Chansey Supply shop and it will cost you ₽530,000 in total.
Alternatively, you can use Power Items that you can buy at a Delibird Presents shop for ₽10,000 each. Have your Pokemon hold the respective Power Item while defeating the Pokemon listed below.

A Bottle Cap can be bought at the Delibird Presents shops for ₽20,000 after getting 6 Gym Badges. 1 Bottle Cap is needed for each stat that will be maxed out.

Next, level it up to 100 to maximize its stats. The easiest way to do this is by farming Exp candies from Tera Raid Battles.

Lastly, give it a Shell Bell. You can buy a Shell Bell from Delibird Presents shop for ₽20,000.

I think this page needs reviewing as the advice is giving conflicting advice. First says Dark Tera type, then says Psychic, then suggests night slash would be super effective against poison.
