VGC World Championships | 2024 Championship Series |
The Pokemon Championship Series is a series of competitive tournaments organized by Play! Pokemon.
These tournaments include international tournaments, regional tournaments, Special Events, and other smaller sanctioned events. VGC tournaments are frequently run concurrently with the Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokemon UNITE, and Pokemon GO, with formats changing yearly to make way for new and interesting strategies.
Players have the chance to accumulate points that will eventually allow them to earn an invitation to the yearly Pokemon World Championships, with 2023's World Championships taking place in Yokohama, Japan.

All events in the Championship Series award Championship Points to players who place in their respective age division.
Players who finish below a certain threshold earn points only if the amount of participants at a specific event and in their age division reaches the Kicker limit.
A change that will be implemented this upcoming 2024 season is the required Championship Points that players need to earn to qualify for the World Championships.
The required points for each player and age division vary from different regions, with the most notable change being North America's requirement of 600 Points which was previously only 350.
