Consistent Steel-type Attaccker Can boost its stats with Shift Gear. Has coverage through Tera Blast. |
Ability | Held Item | |

Filter | Air Balloon |
Revavroom with Water Tera and Air Balloon gives it many ways to evade getting hit by a super-effective attack. In addition to this, Filter lets Revavroom take less damage from super-effective hits, giving it reasonable bulk.
Iron Head | Gunk Shot |
Tera Blast | Shift Gear |
Iron Head is Revavroom's most consistent STAB move for this set, and will likely be the move you click most.
Gunk Shot is a powerful Poison STAB move, but is not completely accurate. Use this to score cheeky knock outs on Poison-weak Pokemon.
Tera Blast turns into a Water-type Move in this set, giving Revavroom coverage against Fire and Ground-types.
And lastly, Shift Gear is in this set to give Revavroom an option to boost its stats, particularly its Attack and Speed.

Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Water is the best Tera Type for this build because it can help mitigate damage from Fire-type Attacks, as well as making Revavroom take neutral damage from Ground.
Best Water Type Pokemon for Ranked Battle
Full Attack and Speed EV investment is necessary so that Revavroom can hit hard and as fast as possible, with the remaining 4 EVs in Special Defense to round off its bulk.
Spin Out | A stronger alternative to Iron Head, however, this will reduce Revavroom's Speed by two stages. |

Considerably tanky. Can be used on defense-oriented teams. Has reliable HP recovery with Leftovers. |
Ability | Held Item | |
---|---|---|
Filter | Leftovers |
The Ability chosen for this build is Filter, as it allows Revavroom to better take super-effective hits. Leftovers is its Held Item, which grants it reliable recovery for drawn-out games.
Spin Out | Toxic |
Substitute | Protect |
Spin Out is Revavroom's STAB Move of choice. This set does not mind the Speed drops.
Toxic is a consistent way to whittle down an opponent's health.
Substitute gives Revavroom more longevity, as its Substitute can soak up damage for it.
Protect allows Revavroom a turn to recover some HP with Leftovers, and a turn for Toxic to deplete an opponent's HP.

Weak to: | ||
(2x) | ||
Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Immune to: | (0x) |
Flying is the best Tera Type for this build because it gives Revavroom an immunity to Ground, and it flips the weaknesses and resistances of its regular Steel Typing!
Best Flying Type Pokemon for Ranked Battle
172 EVs are put into HP, with 4 in Defense, and 228 in Special Defense. This ensures that Revavroom has respectable bulk.
4 EVs are put into Attack to not waste any EVs, and 100 is placed into Speed.
Iron Head | A consistent STAB option that does not reduce Revavroom's Speed. It is a little weaker than Spin Out, however. |

Game8's Competitive Damage Calculator
Revavroom will always want to switch out of the active spot if it is in front of Pokemon who can either wall it or outright KO it. Besides Ground-types, Pokemon with access to Ground-type Moves are also important to watch out for.
Fast and powerful Water and Ground-types are good for Revavroom to have, as they can threaten Pokemon that Revavroom does not want to go up against.
Revavroom appreciates teammates that can check its bad matchups. Fast and powerful Water and Ground-types can deal with pesky Ground and Steel-types that give Revavroom a hard time.
Physical Attacker | Special Attacker | Physical Attacker |
---|---|---|
Revavroom | Wash Rotom | Garchomp |
Revavroom can lead off matches and immediately apply pressure. Wash Rotom works as a switch-in for Fire and Ground-type Attacks, threatening Ground-types, while Garchomp can threaten Steel-types and switch into Fire-type Attacks.
Revavroom lacks coverage from its moves, making it difficult for it to go up against Pokemon who resist Steel. These include Steel-types.
It is also 4x weak to Ground, which makes Ground-types a difficult matchup for Revavroom.
