Clear Amulet |
This Build is designed to counter Ice Tera Pokemon. Despite being weak to common Water Type moves a lot of Ice type Pokemon are known to carry, Chi-Yu's high firepower allows it to deal a good amount of damage first before getting knocked out.
Beads of Ruin is Chi-Yu's only Ability, which reduces the Special Defense stat of all Pokemon on the field by 25% including allies during the raid. Multiple Beads of Ruin don't stack during the raid, and a Pokemon with the Beads of Ruin Ability is also immune to the 25% Sp.Def reduction.
We also recommend getting a Chi-Yu with a Fire Tera Type will increase Flamethrower and Overheat's power when Chi-Yu Terastallizes. As a special attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's Special Attack and HP. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Let Chi-Yu hold a Clear Amulet to prevent it from getting its Special Attack lowered by Inteleon's Tearful Look.
Inteleon Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Sunny Day to remove Snowscape and lower the damage of Water Moves. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Flamethrower to deal damage and build up Tera Orb Charge. Note: If Inteleon manages to land a critical hit, use Overheat instead to deal more damage before shields go up. |
Turn 5~6 | After being brought back to the field, use Sunny Day again, followed by Light Screen. |
Turn 7~8 | Terastallize into a pure Fire-type and use boosted Flamethrower to break the Raid Boss' shield. |
Turns 9+ | Once you break Inteleon's shield, keep using Flamethrower and only use Overheat once the Raid Boss' HP Bar is red to finish it off. |
At the start of the battle, use Sunny Day to increase Chi-Yu's survivability against Water type moves. This also works to raise the damage dealt by Chi-Yu.
Next, use Flamethrower three times to deal build up Tera Orb charge. If the Raid Boss' manages to significantly lower your health, use Overheat instead so that you deal more damage before going down.
Once Chi-Yu is brought back into the field, use Sunny Day again and then Light Screen to reduce the damage of Snipe Shot.
Next, terastallize into a pure Fire-type and use boosted Flamethrower to break Inteleon's shield. Once it's broken, keep using Flamethrower to deal damage. Only use Overheat once Inteleon's HP bar is red to finish it off.

Overheat (+3 Sp. Atk, Sun) 3,414 ~ 4,016 (40.4 ~ 47.6%) |

This Chi-Yu Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Grass, Ice, Bug, and Steel Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Water Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Chi-Yu will be weak to these Types as a Fire Type attacker.

Shell Bell |
This Build is designed as a Dark Type Attacker. Chi-Yu matches up favorably against any raid where Dark Type is needed as it is immune to Psychic, and resistant to Ghost-type attacks thanks to its typing. Its typing is also good for offense, as its STAB Dark Pulse is super-effective against Psychic Type Pokemon.
We also recommend getting a Chi-Yu with a Dark Tera Type as it is still immune Psychic-type moves and will increase Dark Pulse's power when Chi-Yu Terastallizes. As a special attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's Special Attack and HP. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. Give it a Shell Bell to allow Chi-Yu to heal when using damaging moves.
Chi-Yu Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from setting up. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Nasty Plot to boost Chi-Yu's special attack stat. |
Turns 5+ | Use Dark Pulse and KO the Raid Boss. |
At the start of the battle, use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from setting up. Then use Nasty Plot to give yourself boosts in Special Attack. Repeatedly use boosted Dark Pulse to KO the Raid Boss.

This Chi-Yu Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Psychic and Ghost Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Fighting or Fairy Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Chi-Yu will be weak to these Types as a Dark Type attacker.

Expert Belt |
Beads of Ruin is Chi-Yu's ability that lowers the Sp. Def stat of all Pokemon in the field by 25%. This enables Chi-Yu to get significant Special Attack damage to its opponent.
We also recommend getting a Chi-Yu with a Tera Fire Type because it utilizes Chi-Yu's STAB while lowering the opponent's Sp. Def. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards Sp. Attack and HP. Max out your Sp. Attack and HP EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Sp. Defense. Let Chi-Yu hold an Expert Belt to boost damage of Super Effective Moves.
At the start of the battle, Chi-Yu can use Nasty Plot to increase its Sp. Atk by two stages, followed by Dark Pulse that gives 20% chance for the opponent to flinch. Use Taunt to limit the opponent's abiilty to use moves that do damage for three turns, and top it off with Flamethrower for damages.
How to Make Best Chi-Yu Tera Raid Build |
---|
|
You can catch a Chi-Yu with a Fire Tera Type at Firescourge Shrine at the Northeast Region. Make sure to collect all 8 Stakes before going to the Shrine.
Before attempting to catch it, make sure that you turn off your Autosave first. This is so you can restart the battle all over again if it ends up with a Dark Tera Type.
Make sure to bring a Pokemon that has False Swipe and can inflict a status effect to make it easier to catch.
If the Chi-Yu build you are following requires it to have a Dark Tera type, you will need 50 Dark Tera Shards, and bring it to Medali to have your Pokemon's Tera Type changed.
If it has a different nature, you can use an Modest Mint to change its nature to Modest.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
If you have the money for it, you can just buy 26 Calcium (for Sp. Atk), 26 HP Up (for HP), and 1 Zinc (for Sp. Def), or 1 Iron (for Def). All of these items can be bought at a Chansey Supply shop and it will cost you ₽530,000 in total.
