・ Facade ・ Crunch ・ Close Combat |
Ursaring is a powerful wallbreaker thanks to Guts boosting its Attack by 50% when afflicted by a status condition, which this build activates with Flame Orb. This stacks with the +2 Attack boost from Swords Dance, making its boosted Facade very difficult to switch into.
Ursaring's Facade Total Damage Output | |
---|---|
Boost | Percentage |
Base Neutral Damage | 100% |
STAB | +50% |
Tera STAB | +50% |
Guts | +50% |
Swords Dance | +200% |
Total | 450% |
Crunch rounds off its coverage, hitting Ghost-types immune to Facade such as Gholdengo and Ceruledge.
Close Combat is its last move and gives Ursaring a strong Fighting-type move to hit Rock and Steel-types such as Garganacl and Iron Treads for super effective damage.
This build has Normal Tera type to further boost the power of Facade and also retain its type neutrality and one weakness to Fighting-types. However, it's possible to use any Tera type depending on its choice of coverage moves and team composition.
Play Rough | An alternative to Close Combat that hits Dark, Fighting, and Dragon-types for super effective damage. |
---|---|
Earthquake | A good alternative to Close Combat that has great neutral coverage. |
Seed Bomb | Another good alternative to Close Combat that has a niche against bulky Ground and Water-types such as Hippowdon and Palafin. |
Fling | A weaker alternative to Crunch that lets Ursaring burn an opponent by throwing its Flame Orb at them. |
The following calculations take into account Ursaring's Offensive EV spread with an Adamant Nature and Guts boost, as well as the +2 Attack from Swords Dance.
Damage Dealt by Ursaring |
|
---|---|
Item: Black Sludge | Facade 220-259 (140.1 - 164.9%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Item: Leftovers | Crunch 226-266 (116.4 - 137.1%) Guaranteed OHKO |

Moveset | ・
Belly Drum
・ Facade ・ Tera Blast ・ Close Combat |
This is an alternative build for Ursaring with Belly Drum giving it a +6 Attack boost on top of the 50% Attack boost from Guts. Though it hits harder with Facade, it's also riskier to use due to Belly Drum cutting its HP and requires group support to pull off effectively.
Ursaring's Facade Total Damage Output | |
---|---|
Boost | Percentage |
Base Neutral Damage | 100% |
STAB | +50% |
Guts | +50% |
Belly Drum | +400% |
Total | 600% |
Ghost-type Tera Blast rounds off its coverage and allows it to hit Ghost and Psychic types, while also giving it immunity to Fighting-types once it terastallizes.
Close Combat further broadens its coverage and is necessary to Pokemon like Tyranitar who resist both Normal and Ghost-type moves.
Play Rough | An alternative to Close Combat that hits Dark, Fighting, and Dragon-types. |

The following calculations take into account Ursaring's Offensive EV spread with an Adamant Nature and Guts boost, as well as the +6 Attack from Belly Drum.
Damage Dealt by Ursaring |
|
---|---|
Item: Booster Energy | Facade 469-553 (211.2 - 249%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Item: Leftovers | 672-792 (379.6 - 447.4%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Item: Leftovers | Close Combat 1648-1940 (796.1 - 937.1%) Guaranteed OHKO |

Moveset | ・
Belly Drum
・ Facade ・ Crunch ・ Earthquake |
Ursaring has an easier time setting up Belly Drum in Doubles when supported by a Pokemon that can redirect attacks such as Amoonguss and Toedscruel.
Guts-boosted Facade is still Ursaring's strongest move and can KO anything that doesn't resist it after a Belly Drum boost, while Crunch hits Ghost-types that are immune to its Normal-type STAB.
Ursaring's Facade Total Damage Output | |
---|---|
Boost | Percentage |
Base Neutral Damage | 100% |
STAB | +50% |
Guts | +50% |
Belly Drum | +400% |
Total | 600% |
Earthquake is its main coverage move and gets a STAB boost once it terastallizes into a Ground-type. Keep in mind that this move also hits allies in Doubles so it's best to use it with a partner Pokemon with Protect, has the Ability Telepathy, or is a Flying-type.
Close Combat | A strong Fighting-type move but lowers Ursaring's Defense and Special Defense by one stage. |
---|
The following calculations take into account Ursaring's Offensive EV spread with an Adamant Nature and Guts boost, as well as the +6 Attack from Belly Drum.
Damage Dealt by Ursaring |
|
---|---|
Item: | Facade 274-323 (133.6 - 157.5%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Item: Black Sludge | Crunch 293-345 (132.5 - 156.1%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Item: Leftovers | Earthquake 716-846 (345.8 - 408.6%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Ursaring is a powerful Guts user that can further increase its offenses by setting up with either Swords Dance or Belly Drum and is very difficult to switch into once it has enough boosts.
This is offset by its relatively low Speed stat which means it requires specific team support to properly set up and overpower the opposing team with its boosted moves.
Ursaring's low Speed means it requires full team support to properly set up with Swords Dance or Belly Drum in both the Singles and Doubles format.
Lead Support | Physical Attacker | Offensive Pivot |
---|---|---|
Cyclizar | Ursaring | Garganacl |
Cyclizar's main role is to use Shed Tail to pass a Substitute to Ursaring, who can safely setup with Belly Drum or Swords Dance. Once Guts activates, it can then overpower the opposing team with boosted Facade and its coverage moves.
Garganacl serves as this team's offensive pivot, using Salt Cure to dissuade defensive Pokemon and phazers from switching in.
Lead Attacker | Redirection Support |
---|---|
Ursaring | Amoonguss |
Utility | Special Attacker |
Gardevoir | Flutter Mane |
Amoonguss is a great partner for Ursaring since it can provide redirection support with Rage Powder, redirecting attacks that would otherwise prevent Ursaring from setting up with Belly Drum.
Once Ursaring has set up, Amoonguss should switch to Gardevoir who is immune to multi-target moves like Earthquake thanks to its Telepathy Ability. It can also recover Ursaring's lost health with Life Dew while also further boosting its Attack with Helping Hand.
Flutter Mane rounds off this team by providing strong special coverage with its dual Ghost and Fairy-type moves. It also dissuades faster attackers from switching in against Ursaring, such as Ghost and Fighting-types.
Ursaring's offenses are offset by its low speed stat, leaving it easily outrun by other sweepers that can take advantage of its relatively low defenses.
