Dual Steel Flying is an excellent defensive Typing. Able to make full use of Iron Defense + Body Press combination. Both its Pressure Ability and Mirror Armor Hidden Ability are very useful. |

U-Turn Build | ★★★★★ |
Iron Defense | ★★★★★ |
Corviknight has an excellent defensive Typing as a dual Steel-Flying Type. Corviknight also has access to Iron Defense to go along with its decent bulk making it an excellent Wall. With access to U-Turn, Corviknight is also able to reposition itself in unfavorable match-ups. It complements any attacker and is overall a highly customizable Pokemon that is very easy to utilize in a variety of teams.
The key difference between most Corviknight sets is whether they run U-Turn or Iron Defense. U-Turn is a great attack to support your backup attackers, while the Iron Defense + Body Press combination turns Corviknight into both a defensive and offensive ace.

Tera Type | When Terastallized as a Flying Tera Type, Corviknight does not lose its Flying Type upon using Roost, allowing it to retain its Ground Type immunity and stay safe from moves like Earthquake and Fissure. |
Held Item | Rocky Helmet |
Moveset | ・
Brave Bird
・ U-turn ・ Taunt ・ Roost |
With Corviknight's excellent dual Steel-Flying Type along with the right defensive EV investment, Corviknight becomes a bulky tank, capable of withstanding physical attacks from most opponents. By using U-Turn against unfavorable matchups, after receiving damage from them, Corviknight can both reduce their HP, while tanking a hit and switching out to a favorable counter that is ready to go with Full HP.
Corviknight can utilize Taunt and Roost to effectively prevent opponents from using status moves to setup, recover HP or inflict status conditions. Corviknight can then loop Brave Bird and Roost to bring down opposing Pokemon's HP while restoring its own, potentially walling the opponent. This is especially effective against Pokemon like Hippowdon that typically only run Ground Type damaging moves, as well as Pokemon like Dondozo that rely on non-damaging moves.
Iron Head | Super effective STAB damage against Fairy Type Pokemon could make Corviknight a viable Fairy counter. |
---|---|
Iron Defense | Depending on the type of support you need for your team, combining the U-Turn and Iron Defense sets into one may be a viable strategy. |

Moveset | ・
Body Press
・ Iron Defense ・ Taunt ・ Roost |
Corviknight already has great natural bulk, but with Iron Defense it can boost its Defense even further, making it completely resistant to almost all physical attackers. With each Iron Defense Corviknight's Body Press also get stronger, making it a potential attacker as well.
With Corviknight's Taunt, it is able to stop opposing Pokemon from setting up or using status moves. If Corviknight is up against a slower stall or disruption Pokemon, it is able to completely disrupt the strategy with Taunt.
Iron Head | Super effective STAB damage against Fairy Type Pokemon could make Corviknight a viable Fairy counter. |

U-turn | Depending on the type of support you need for your team, combining the U-Turn and Iron Defense sets into one may be a viable strategy. |

Tera Dragon Corviknight | ★★★★★ |
Nature | Impish Nature (+Def, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp. Def |

Moveset | ・
Brave Bird
・ Bulk Up ・ Iron Head ・ Roost |
Dragon Tera Corviknight can serve as a win condition, often being difficult to take out after running your opponents out of Ice and Fairy-types to hit it for super-effective. A single Bulk Up can position Corviknight to win games, as it has massive natural bulk to begin with and benefits from a Defense boost.
Brave Bird and Iron Head are its attacking moves, which offer decent coverage, while Roost helps Corviknight stay in the game.
Mirror Armor Corviknight matches up favorably against opposing Arcanine, whose Intimidates get sent back with Mirror Armor. Arcanine will be dealing minimal damage with Flare Blitz. Do note, however that Will-O-Wisp will still take effect, so Terastallize or switch if you have to.
Taunt | Useful for stopping opposing Pokemon from setting up. |
---|
Corviknight has an excellent Defense stat, but only average Special Defense. Therefore, utilize Corviknight as a physical wall and use another Pokemon if you come up against a Special attacker.
Corviknight is best teamed with a powerful sweeper that it can switch to with its U-Turn. Many of the current sweepers in the meta are weak to Pokemon like Mimikyu and Azumarill, which if dealt some preemptive damage with U-Turn are often able to be one-shot by the follow up attacker.
Sweeper | Bulky Support | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Hydreigon | Corviknight | Sylveon |
Corviknight should be complemented by a Pokemon that is able to take special hits or damage from Electric or Fire Type moves that Corviknight is weak to.
Disruption and Stall | Physical Bulky Attacker | Special Bulky Attacker |
---|---|---|
Clodsire | Corviknight | Dragonite |
Support | Physical Attacker |
---|---|
Grimmsnarl | Corviknight |
Support / Physical Attacker | Physical Attacker |
Arcanine | Iron Hands |
Grimmsnarl can set up screens for its team, letting Corviknight take minimal damage as it sets up Bulk Up. Arcanine is good to have in the back, as it can come in after Grimmsnarl has set up screens, to further debuff the opponent's offense with Intimidate and Snarl. Additionally, Grimmsnarl can also protect its team from status conditions using Misty Terrain.
Oftentimes, this defense oriented team composition will run the opponents out of options, which is perfect for a late game Iron Hands to take out weakened Pokemon.
As Corviknight is weak to both Special attacks and Electric Type moves, hitting and switching on it with Volt Switch is a highly effective countermeasure. Provided there is no Ground Type on the Corviknight team, you can force the opponent to either sacrifice Corviknight or switch out to another Pokemon which will then receive the damage and you can then select a suitable counter to send out against the new Pokemon. This is an especially good strategy if the Pokemon using Volt Switch also has an answer to Ground Type Pokemon.
