・ Hyper Voice ・ Trick Room ・ Protect |
Farigiraf is a reliable Trick Room setter in Regulation G who can protect itself and its teammate from Priority Moves thanks to its Armor Tail Ability. Slow Trick Room Pokemon like Torkoal and Hariyama find a new teammate in Farigiraf, who can consistently set Trick Room for them.
Protect is in this set to protect Farigiraf from getting double targetted, while Dazzling Gleam and Hyper Voice are solid Spread Moves.
Mental Herb is the Item of choice because it protects Farigiraf from non-Priority Taunt.
Imprison | Imprison is great for denying an opponent's Trick Room, if reversed Speed would not be advantageous to you |
---|---|
Helping Hand | Helping Hand gives Farigiraf's teammates a boost to their attacks, which can often lead to decisive KOs. |
Nasty Plot | Nasty Plot is a solid option for punishing passive turns, allowing Farigiraf to become an offensive tank. |
Psychic | Another decent STAB option, Psychic is another decent choice for dealing damage to non-Dark-types. |
Armor Tail can protect Farigiraf and its allies from Priority Moves. This defensive Ability is great for protecting Farigiraf and its team from moves like Fake Out or Prankster-boosted Status Moves.
Farigiraf is best used in teams that can either help it set up Trick Room, or function well in Trick Room.
Hariyama can Fake Out an opposing Pokemon to protect Farigiraf from getting double targetted, as well as provide Wide Guard support.
Torkoal can enter the field while in Trick Room and sweep.
Trick Room Setter | Trick Room Physical Attacker |
---|---|
Farigiraf | Calyrex (Ice Rider) |
Bulky Pivot | Support / Redirection |
Incineroar | Amoonguss |
Farigiraf can consistently set up Trick Room, provided it gets the support it needs. Having a backup Trick Room Setter in Calyrex (Ice Rider) can help support this strategy even further.
Incineroar can work as a lead and pivot into Calyrex with U-Turn or Parting Shot, while Amoonguss can redirect attacks away from its teammates.
Farigiraf does not like going up agaist Dark-types, because they typically pack enough firepower to threaten Farigiraf.
Having Farigiraf Terastallize means you are on the back foot, denying more powerful Attackers in your team the chance to Terastallize. Farigiraf is best used as a Trick Room Setter and Support Pokemon, and not an Attacker
Pokemon | Description |
---|---|
Hydreigon | Ranking: ★★★★★
・Hydreigon can hit Farigiraf with a super-effective Dark-type move, forcing it to Terastallize to take a resisted hit or be put in range for a KO. |
Kingambit | Ranking: ★★★★★
・Kingambit can deal huge damage with Kowtow Cleave, putting it in 2HKO range. ・Can function comfortably in Trick Room conditions because of its low Speed Stat. |

For the best EV spread, shouldn't it be 148 SpDef instead of Speed?
