Raid Host

Pokemon Moveset / Strengths
Ditto ImageDitto Transform
・The raid Ditto will transform into your Ditto and repeatedly use Transform, which will fail.

The strategy behind the Ditto raid revolves around the raid Ditto transforming into a weak Pokemon. For this team composition, the raid host needs to use Ditto to force the raid Ditto to transform into one.

Once it transforms into Ditto, it will keep using the move Transform and fail. This is when your allies can attack!

You can also use Magikarp

Pokemon Moveset / Strengths
Magikarp ImageMagikarp Splash
・Force the raid Ditto to spam Splash once it transforms into your Magikarp.

You can use Magikarp as an alternative Pokemon to use when hosting Ditto raids. This will force Ditto to use Splash after it transforms into your Magikarp.

Wild Charge
・Use Belly Drum to raise Iron Hand's Attack by 6 stages.
Drain Punch allows you to heal while attacking.
▶︎ Best Iron Hands Build for Tera Raids

Iron Hands is a great physical attacker and is suitable for this raid strategy. Make sure to boost your Attack with Belly Drum at the start of the raid so you can easily deal massive damage.

You can also use Azumarill

Helping Hand
・Use Belly Drum to raise Azumarill's Attack by 6 stages.
・Give it a Shell Bell for a recovery option.
・Use Helping Hand to support allies.

You can also use Azumarill as an alternative if you don't have Iron Hands. The same strategy applies: use Belly Drum to boost your Attack and attack to deal massive damage.

As a Host, Use Ditto

Tera Raid Ditto always transforms into the Tera Raid host's Pokemon. If you are hosting a Tera Raid featuring a Ditto, you can manipulate it to transform into a weak Pokemon so your allies can have an easier time defeating it.

As the raid host, you can use either another Ditto or a Magikarp to make the raid a lot easier. Using Ditto will let the raid Ditto transform into your Ditto and lock it from using the move Transform over and over again and fail, as a Ditto cannot change into something that it already is.

You can also transform into an Iron Hands and attack, but make sure to use all of your cheer charges first.

Initially Select a Strong Pokemon When Hosting with Random Players

If you are going to host a Ditto raid with random people, it might be a good idea to choose a strong Pokemon at the selection screen at the chance that the random players that will join your raid may be unfamiliar with the strategy and end up quitting the raid instead.

Once the room is full, you can then proceed to change into a weak Pokemon before starting the raid.

Tera Raid Code Sharing Board

As a Participant, Use Iron Hands to One-Shot Ditto

If you are joining a Ditto Tera Raid, the raid's host will be the one choosing the weak Pokemon. Pick a strong Pokemon built for Tera Raids like Iron Hands.

Iron Hands can freely set up Belly Drum and use Close Combat without worrying about the Defense and Special Defense drops, as the Ditto will not even have the chance to attack.

Defeat It to Get 6IV Ditto

If you get the strategy right, your allies can easily deal with Ditto once it has transformed into your weak Pokemon if you are hosting the raid, or one-shot the raid Ditto if you have successfully set up your Pokemon offensively if you are joining the raid.

Once you defeat it, make sure to catch it to get your own 6IV Ditto!

Use Magikarp

Pokemon Moveset / Strengths
Magikarp ImageMagikarp Splash
・Force raid Ditto to transform into Magikarp and let it use Splash.
・Use a low level Magikarp
・Let Magikarp have a -Def Nature, no EVs, and low Def and Sp.Def IVs

If you want to take on the raid Ditto alone, you can use a Magikarp which is built to be as frail as possible. The raid Ditto will transform into your Magikarp, and the NPCs you will fight with will be the ones who will attack Ditto.

Send out a Magikarp with a low level, preferably Level 1. Stat-wise, it is best to use one with a Nature that reduces its Defense stat (Lonely, Mild, Gentle, or Hasty), no EVs in any stat, and low IVs in its Defense and Special Defense. Remember to only let it know the move Splash.

This strategy relies on the NPCs that will join your raid. As you cannot select the NPCs that you will fight with, you can indirectly help them take down Ditto faster by using the weakest Magikarp you can find.

EVs, IVs, and Natures Explained

Offline Solo Strategy

How to Beat Ditto
Turns Pokemon SV - Magikarp Magikarp Solo Lead Random NPC Pokemon
#1~3 Use Go All Out! Cheer Various moves depending on Pokemon
#4+ Splash Various moves depending on Pokemon

Since you will be relying on the NPCs' moves and wait for them to defeat the raid Ditto, you can power up their attacks with the Go All Out! cheer. If they will not be able to beat the raid Ditto within three turns, you will be forced to use Splash.

Use Sinistea

Pokemon Moveset / Strengths
Sinistea ImageSinistea Shell Smash
・Force raid Ditto to transform into Sinistea and let it use Splash.
・Use a low level Magikarp
・Let Magikarp have a -Def Nature, no EVs, and low Def and Sp.Def IVs

By using Sinistea as the host, the raid Ditto will use Transform on you first. After it copies your Sinistea, the raid Ditto will be locked into using Shell Smash, lowering its defenses repeatedly.

Offline Solo Strategy

How to Beat Ditto
Turns Pokemon SV - Sinistea Sinistea Solo Lead Random NPC Pokemon
#1~3 Use Go All Out! Cheer Various moves depending on Pokemon
#4+ Shell Smash Various moves depending on Pokemon

This strategy relies on the NPC Pokemon to knock out Ditto in your place. Sinistea's relatively low base stats and Shell Smash should allow your AI Teammates to quickly knock out the Raid Ditto.
