Shell Bell |
Decent to use for Fire weak Pokemon Raids. Flamethrower and Will-O-Wisp inflict burn making it an amazing counter for Physical Attackers. Can boost itself with Sunny Day and Nasty Plot. |
The best ability for Infernape in Tera Raid Battles is Blaze, this will boost the damage of your Fire-type moves when your HP goes low.
We also recommend getting a Infernape with a Fire Tera Type to make its Fire-type moves more powerful. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would work best for this Pokemon.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's HP and Sp.Atk stats. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Def. Equip the Pokemon with Shell Bell to regain HP when using damaging moves.
Infernape Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turns 1~3 | Use Nasty Plot to make buff up your Special Attack stat. |
Turns 4~6 | Use Fake Tears to fully lower the Raid Boss' Sp. Def. However, depending on the behavior of the Raid Boss, feel free to swap the debuffs and buffs if needed. |
Turn 5~7 | Use Flamethrower for a chance to Burn the Raid Boss and build Tera Orb Charges. |
Turn 8 | Use Sunny Day to power up your Fire type Attacks. |
Turns 9+ | Terastallize, then keep using Flamethrower. Set up any buffs you may have lost. |
Flamethrower is your main attacking move due to its high damage with no chance of missing.
Nasty Plot, Fake Tears, and Sunny Day will be your main buffing moves to deal as much damage to the Raid Boss.

Iron Fist boosts the damage from Drain Punch. Access to Swords Dance and Drain Punch making it a good user for Metronome boosts. Gets Leer as a level up move, while not as good as Screech, is still a decent option. |
The best ability for Infernape in Tera Raid Battles is Iron Fist. This lets Infernape boost the damage, and therefore healing, for Drain Punch.
With access to both Swords Dance and Leer, Infernape is a decent Pokemon to pick when it comes to Tera Raids that are weak to Fighting type moves.
A Fighting Tera Type in conjunction with a Metronome held item, allows Infernape to have great damage output combined with healing with consecutive Drain Punches.
As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would work best for this Pokemon.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's HP and Attack. Max out your HP, and Atk EVs, while putting the remaining points into Defense. This allows Infernape to have decent bulk, while still having high offense.
Give Infernape a Metronome to boost the damage output of Drain Punch by 10% each time it is used consecutively!
Infernape Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Taunt to prevent stat drops from status moves. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Swords Dance three times to max out your attack. |
Optional | Use Leer a few times to lower the Raid Boss' Defense. However, depending on the behavior of the Raid Boss, feel free to swap the debuffs and buffs if needed. |
Low HP Turn | Use Drain Punch to regain HP |
Turns 6+ | Use Drain Punch to deal large damage while also replenishing HP. Terastallize when possible. |
Start out the Tera Raid Battle by using Taunt to prevent stat drops from Status Moves.
Follow with 3 Swords Dances and follow it up with a few uses of Leer. Depending on the behavior of the Raid Boss, feel free to swap out the two set up moves if needed. Use Drain Punch when HP is Low to regain HP.
Proceed to attack consecutively with Drain Punch to boost it's damage each turn, while also replenishing your HP.
When you have enough Tera Orb charge to terastallize, proceed to Terastalize and start spamming Drain Punch to damage the raid Pokemon's shield and finish the battle!

You can use any ability for Infinape in this build as neither will affect its damage in any meaningful way.
We also recommend getting a Infernape with a Fighting Tera Type to make its Fighting-type moves more powerful. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would work best for this Pokemon.

How to Make Best Infernape Tera Raid Build |

You can catch a Chimchar with a Fire Tera Type at the Polar Biome.
In order to get Chimchar in the Terarium, you need to complete Terry's Boost biodiversity in the Polar Biome request on the Support Board for 3000 BP
Make sure to bring a Pokemon that has False Swipe and can inflict a status effect to make it easier to catch.
You have a chance to get a Chimchar by hatching the egg that Jacq gives you in the Teal Mask DLC. However, this egg can hatch into any of the three Sinnoh starter Pokemon, not just Chimchar.
If you do get Chimchar, you can evolve this to get Monferno and then Infernape.

If you don't get Chimchar from this egg, or if you don't have the DLC, you can get Infernape by transferring it from a previous Pokemon game. Of the Pokemon games on the Nintendo Switch, Infernape can be found in Pokemon BDSP and Pokemon Legends Arceus.

If the Infernape build you are following requires it to have a different Tera type, you will need to have 50 Tera Shards of the type you need, and bring it to Medali to have your Pokemon's Tera Type changed.
