Can You Catch Titan Pokemon?

Not When you First Encounter them in their Titan Form

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Sprigatito vs Titan Klawf
You will not be able to catch the Titan Pokemon during your first encounter with them in Path of Legends
Path of Legends Story Guide

You Can Rematch the Titan Pokemon to Catch Them

Rematch Titan Klawf Pokemon SV
If you return to the location where you first encountered the Titan afterwards, you'll be able to find them there ready for a rematch, during which the Titan can be caught. When you talk to the Titan Pokemon it will once again engage in a battle with you. Make sure you are prepared to battle and catch the Titan before you initiate the conversation.

How to Catch Titan Pokemon

Rewards and Bonuses for Clearing Path of Legends

You Can Unlock Greater Ride Functionality for Miraidon/Koraidon

The benefit of progressing through the Path of Legends is unlocking greater ride abilities for Koraidon/Miraidon. By defeating the Titan Pokemon dispersed across the Paldea Region and obtaining their Herba Mystica, you can unlock various ride functions for Koraidon/Miraidon, making travelling across the region ever easier.

By unlocking the surf and climb abilities you instantly gain easier access to a much vaster range of area. As such it is recommended you prioritize this Story Mode over the other two.

List of Unlockable Ride Functions

Sprint Mode
By pressing the L Stick you can dash. When you crash into a tree during mid-sprint, Pokemon may fall down from the tree.
Aquatic Mode
This function allows you to travel freely over water. While surfing you can also jump with the B Button.
High Jump
By holding the B Button for longer, you are able to perform a much higher jump. With a light tap of the 'B' Button you are still able to perform the same familiar shorter jump.
Glide Mode
By pressing the 'B' Button while airborne, you are able to perform a glide. By pressing the 'B' Button once more mid-glide you will stop gliding and begin to fall.
Climb Mode
By facing a cliff or wall and jumping with the 'B' Button you are able to initiate the Climb Function. By pressing the 'B' Button once more you release from the cliff.

What is the Path of Legends?

A Quest for the Elusive Herba Mystica

Path of Legends Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)
A Path where you accompany Arven on his mission to track down and research the elusive Herba Mystica for their healing properties.

Herba Mystica are guarded by the enormous and mysterious Titan Pokemon, so they will not be obtained easily. Team up with the battle skill lacking Arven to get the Herba Mystica and receive a delicious cooking treat for you and your Pokemon.

Titan Pokemon are Formidable Foes

Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan and Sprigatito
Compared to the Sprigatito pictured above, Titan Pokemon are enormous, formidable looking foes. After defeating a Titan Pokemon they will be back in their regular non Titan size the next time you return to the area. You are then able to catch them.

Pokemon that were previously Titan Pokemon will also have a special Ribbon, along with in game battle text denoting that they were previously Titan Pokemon. If you do capture them or accidentally defeat them a second time, the Titan Pokemon will no longer appear in the area however, so choose wisely.
