Moveset | ・
Hyper Voice
・ Yawn ・ Substitute ・ Baton Pass |
Yawn and Baton Pass make for a strong combo, being able to switch in a fresh Pokemon after a successful Yawn. Your opponents are forced to switch or have their Pokemon fall asleep. Baton Passing a Substitute is also very powerful as it allows a teammate to have an extra layer of protection, and an extra opportunity to set up their offenses.
Quick Attack | Quick Attack gives Sylveon a Fairy-type Priority Move, which is great for picking off low-HP Pokemon. |

Nature | Modest (+Sp. Atk, -Atk) |

Moveset | ・
Hyper Voice
・ Tera Blast ・ Shadow Ball ・ Quick Attack |
Sylveon is a formidable Special Attacker with access to a priority move in Quick Attack. Its solid Special Defense is even further bolstered by Assault Vest, giving it even more survivability. Its damage output and its defenses make Sylveon a powerful Pokemon to have in any team.
Hyper Beam | Pixilate-boosted Hyper Beam gives Sylveon the option of nuking something at the cost of not being able to attack for a turn. |

Moveset | ・
Hyper Voice
・ Hyper Beam ・ Tera Blast ・ Psyshock |
Hyper Voice is Sylveon's most reliable Spread Move, while Hyper Beam is an effective move for taking out a threat quickly. Sylveon can also Terastallize and take out a Steel-type with a Fire-type Tera Blast.
Psyshock is great to use against opposing Amoonguss, who you can heavily damage without committing to Terastallizing.
Quick Attack | Quick Attack gives Sylveon a Fairy-type Priority Move to use in a pinch. |
---|
Fairy deal neutral damage to most types, being resisted by Poison, Fire, and Steel. Not a lot of Pokemon will want to take Pixilate-boosted Hyper Voices directly.
Sylveon has respectable natural bulk, which allows it to be a reliable user of Yawn and Baton Pass. Try to steer Sylveon clear of super-effective moves and it should be able to help its team.
Sylveon does not like Steel-types. And while it has access to a Fire move in Tera Blast (provided its Tera type is Fire), you may not always want to have Sylveon Terastallize. Teammates with inherent capabilities to take out Steel-types are best to put alongside Sylveon.
Sub-Pass Sylveon | Tanky Special Attacker | Fast Physical Attacker |
---|---|---|
Sylveon | Skeledirge | Garchomp |
Teammates who can support its Baton Pass set are great to have for Sylveon. Garchomp can come in and set up Swords Dance, while Skeledirge can start boosting with Torch Song
Support | Special Attacker |
---|---|
Arcanine | Sylveon |
Support | Physical Attacker |
Murkrow | Garchomp |
Arcanine is a good Pokemon to have alongside Sylveon as it can debuff Physical Attackers with Intimidate, and Special Attackers with Snarl. It can also threaten Steel-types with its STAB Fire moves.
Murkrow can also support Sylveon with Tailwind. Garchomp matches up favorably against Steel-types who threaten Sylveon, however Sylveon won't be able to use Protect when Garchomp Earthquakes if it is running Choice Specs.

Sylveon learns Yawn as an egg move, so in order to get Yawn on Sylveon, first you need a Pokemon that knows the move. You will then need to make sure Sylveon has an empty move slot and give it a Mirror Herb.
Finally, set up a picnic with both Sylveon and the Pokemon that knows the egg move in your party and the move will be transferred to Sylveon (the other Pokemon still retains its moveset). Unlike previous generations, egg moves can now be transferred regardless of egg group, species or gender.

The EV spread for the assault vest build wrong. It 100 ev's short and the speed is way off for the final total.
