Shell Bell |
Boost the power of Leaf Blade with Grassy Terrain. Screech and Swords Dance are staples in solo strats. Leaf Blade is a great Physical Attack that has a high Critical Hit ratio. Can substitute for Ogerpon in a pinch. |
The best ability for Leavanny in Tera Raid Battles is Chlorophyll. This helps Leavanny work exceptionally well in Sun by boosting its Speed. While Overcoat is also great, Leavanny's typing makes it reduntant with its immunity to Powder and Spore Moves.
We also recommend getting a Leavanny with a Grass Tera Type to further boost the damage of Leaf Blade. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense to help with survivability while still dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Atk EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Sp. Def or Def depending on whichever one you need. The Shell Bell allows Leavanny to recover some HP after every turn.
Leavanny Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turns 1~6 | Use Screech and Swords Dance. Try to gauge the behavior of the raid boss whether they like to clear out debuffs or buffs first and act accordingly. |
Optional | Use Leaf Blade when Leavanny's HP falls below 50% with your Shell Bell. |
Turns 7~9 | Use Leaf Blade to deal damage and build Tera Charge. |
Turn 10 | Use Grassy Terrain before you Terastallize to boost the power of Leaf Blade. |
Turns 11+ | Terastallize once you build up enough Tera Orb Charge, and continue using Leaf Blade. |
Start by setting up with Screech and Swords Dance. These should let you deal absurd amounts of damage with Leaf Blade once you Terastallize. Should the raid boss take some Tera Orb Charges, feel free to use Leaf Blade

This Leavanny Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Water, Ground and Rock Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Fire, Ice or Flying Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Leavanny will be weak to these Types as a Grass Type attacker.

Shell Bell |
Access to both Screen moves lets it tank a few hits and set-up. Make use of Swarm thanks to Leavanny's lackluster Defenses. X-Scissor has a high chance to crit combined with Screech and Swords Dance. |
This Build is designed to counter Bug-weak Pokemon in Tera Raids. With access to Light Screen, Leavanny can safely set up Swords Dance and Screech without much fear of being one-shot by any move barring Fire and Flying-type Moves.
We also recommend getting a Leavanny with a Bug Tera Type as it will increase X-Scissor's power when Leavanny Terastallizes. As a physical attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.

Leavanny can also be built to counter Physical Attackers with minimal changes to the build. Make sure to invest in Def EVs instead of Sp.Def instead for this build.
Move | Case |
---|---|
Lunge | While it doesn't have the increased critical-hit ratio, Lunge makes up for this by decreasing the Raid Boss' Attack Stat making it a great choice for Physical oriented Tera Raid bosses |
Reflect | In place of Light Screen, you can make use of this to lower the damage recieve from the Raid Boss' Physical Attacks |

You can catch a Sewaddle with a Grass or Bug Tera Type at Apple Hills, Mossfell Confluence, or Wistful Fields.
Make sure to bring a Pokemon that has False Swipe and can inflict a status effect to make it easier to catch.
If the Leavanny build you are following requires it to have a different Tera type, you will need to have 50 Tera Shards of the type you need, and bring it to Medali to have your Pokemon's Tera Type changed.
If it has a different nature, you can use Adamant Mint to change its nature to Adamant.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
If its ability is different from our recommendation, you can use an Ability Capsule to change it.
This item can be bought at Chansey Supply shops for ₽100,000.
Ability Capsule Location and How to Get
If the build you are following requires it to have its Hidden Ability, you can use an Ability Patch to give Leavanny its Hidden Ability.

EV train Leavanny according to the build's EV spread using Vitamins, Mochis, or the traditional way with Power Items and battling Pokemon with the right EV yield.
Vitamins can be bought at any Chansey Supply shop and it will cost you ₽530,000 to fully train a Pokemon. Meanwhile, Mochi can be obtained through the Ogre Oustin' Minigame.
If you have the money for it, you can just buy 26 Protein, 26 HP Up, and 1 Iron or Zinc. You can also just use the respective Mochi if you wish to do so.
Alternatively, you can use Power Items that you can buy at a Delibird Presents shop for ₽10,000 each. Have your Pokemon hold the respective Power Item while defeating the Pokemon listed below.
