This Quagsire build lets it play the role of a hard support in the Samurott Tera Raid Event.
For this build, Quagsire needs to have Water Absorb as its Ability to soak up Samurott's Water-type attacks and recover health instead of taking damage. This turns Quagsire into a bulky support, thanks to its EVs spread to its HP and Defense while holding Leftovers.
As for its moves, Quagsire can force the raid Samurott to fall asleep with Yawn, then assist its attacking allies with Helping Hand to boost the power of their moves. Quagsire can also use Mist near the start of the raid to protect its team from receiving stat drops and heal more HP with Recover.
Quagsire Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Yawn to make Samurott fall asleep. |
Turn 2 | Use Mist to Quagsire's team from stat reductionsfor five turns. |
Turns 3+ | Use Helping Hand to improve damage output of allies. |
Optional | Use the Heal up! cheer to keep your allies healthy or Recover to self-heal. |
At the beginning of the raid, use Yawn on Samurott to make it fall asleep. This will give your allies a few turns to set themselves up.
Next, set up Mist to protect your team from getting stat reductions for five turns. After that, you can start supporting your team with Helping Hand as they attack.
As the raid goes, use Yawn to force Samurott to sleep again, heal your team with Heal up! cheers, or heal yourself with Recover.

Leftovers |
The best ability for Quagsire in Tera Raid Battles is Water Absorb, which gives it immunity to Water-type moves and restores HP instead.
Coupled with its resistance to Poison, Quagsire is a reliable bulky Pokemon to bring to Tera Raids.
We also recommend getting a Quagsire with a Ground Tera Type to boost the power of its STAB Earthquake. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense to help with survivability and dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. The Leftovers gives Quagsire passive healing while it uses its support and damaging moves.
Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Haze to remove the opponent's stat boosts if it has any. |
Optional | Use Stockpile to increase Quagsire's defenses. |
Turns 2~3 | Use Earthquake to deal Super Effective damage while building up your own Tera charge. |
Turns 4+ | Terastallize and use Earthquake to deal boosted damage against Ground-weak Pokemon. |
Start the battle by using Haze to remove annoying stat buffs from the opposing Pokemon if it has any. You may also use Stockpile to increase Quagsire's Defense and Special Defense by one stage.
Use Earthquake to hit Ground-weak Pokemon for super effective damage. Once you have enough Tera charge, terastallize into a pure Ground-type and hit the opposing Pokemon with boosted Earthquake.
Both Quagsire and Clodsire have similar learn pools, with the only major difference being their base stats and types.
