Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Authentic Sinistea

Sinistea comes in two forms, namely Phony Form and the less common Antique or Authentic Form. Read on to learn how to find out how to find Authentic Sinisteas in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)!

Sinistea Forms

Sinistea's two forms are its Phony Form, and Antique Form. The differences between these two forms are purely ornamental and do not affect its stats in any way.

Antique Form Sinisteas have a black sticker underneath their cups. These Sinistea can only be found outside Alfornada. This is Sinistea's Authentic Form.

Phony Form Sinisteas do not have a black sticker underneath their cups. This Sinistea form is the 'fake' form, lore-wise, but there are no differences at all in terms of stats.

How To Check Sinistea Forms

Use The In-Game Camera

Sinistea Antique Form

Checking if a Sinistea is Phony or Antique can be done by walking up to a wild Sinistea and rotating the camera to see underneath it. You can then auto-battle the Phony Sinistea and continue searching.

It is important to note that Antique Form Sinistea will only appear right outside Alfornada and not anywhere else. They will not spawn in the ruins in South Province (Area Six) where other Sinistea appear.

Phony Form and Antique Forms have different Pokedex entries. The Pokedex also specifies different locations for each form. Once you've caught an Antique Form Sinistea, however, your Pokedex will default to Antique Form entries.
