You can increase the Tera Raid Star Levels by progressing through the story and obtaining Gym Badges. After completing the main story, you will unlock 5-Star Tera Raids and the Academy Ace Tournament. Completing the Academy Ace Tournament and clearing 10 offline or online 4-Star Raid or higher will unlock 6-Star Tera Raids.

7-Star Tera Raids, on the other hand, is only available through Raid Events with Black Crystal Tera Raids. 7-Star Raids are usually announced ahead of time, giving players ample time to prepare against these mighty raid bosses.

Join higher level Raids online!

Even if you haven't unlocked them in your save file, you can join higher Tera Raid Star Levels from other players online!

Pokemon SV - Herba Mystica in 6 Star Ditto Tera Raid

The rewards you get in Raids scale with the Tera Raid Star Level. Completing higher star levels will net you better rewards, including bigger Exp. Candies! Starting at 5-Star Raid Level, there will also be a chance the rewards will include a Herba Mystica, which we recommend to use in Shiny Sandwiches for shiny hunting!

Tera Raid Star Level also affects how strong the Tera Pokemon will be. Higher levels will make for a more grueling battle, but if your team manages to overwhelm the Tera Pokemon, you'll have an opportunity to capture a powerful Pokemon that can even have Hidden Abilities!
