Shell Bell |
The best ability for Galarian Slowking in Tera Raid Battles is Own Tempo. This is the only useful ability Galarian Slowbro has when it comes to Tera Raids.
Curious Medicine is too situational and would be a detriment if you get knocked out while your allies are fully buffed. Meanwhile, Regenerator has no use in Tera Raid Battles.
We also recommend getting a Galarian Slowking with a Poison Tera Type to further boost its Sludge Bomb. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's Special Attack and HP. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Equip the Pokemon with a Shell Bell to heal off any damage you get.
Galarian Slowking Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Set up a Light Screen to protect the party from Special Attacks. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Acid Spray to lower the opponent's Sp. Def. and build up Tera Orb Charge. |
Low HP Turn | During the setup phase, if you are low on HP and have not gotten the opponent to -6 Sp. Def or yourself to +6 Sp. Atk use Slack Off to recover HP. If you have sufficiently nerfed the raid boss/buffed Galarian Slowking, you should be able to recover plenty of HP with a Sludge Bomb thanks to Shell Bell. |
Turns 5~7 | Use Nasty Plot to raise your Special Attack to +6. |
Turns 8+ | Terastallize and keep using Sludge Bomb. |
Galarian Slowking is one of the Pokemon who has access to both Acid Spray and Nasty Plot. This makes it a very potent attacker when it comes to Tera Raids.
Set up a Light Screen at the start of the raid. Also, Slowking's only mode of attack is Sludge Bomb so be sure to raise its PP with some PP Ups or PP Max.
Damage Dealt by Galarian Slowking |
|
---|---|
Sludge Bomb (+ 6 Sp. Atk, Poison Tera) 4900 ~ 5768 (56.1 ~ 66%) |
Using this strategy it should take approximately 15~18 turns to take out a 7-Star Raid Boss. More turns may be required, depending on when the Raid Boss will put up its shield and reset stat changes.

Leftovers |
The best ability for Galarian Slowking in Tera Raid Battles is Own Tempo. This is the only useful ability Glarian Slowbro has when it comes to Tera Raids.
Curious Medicine is too situational and would be a detriment if you get knocked out while your allies are fully buffed. Meanwhile, Regenerator has no use in Tera Raid Battles.
We also recommend getting a Slowking with a Psychic Tera Type to boost the power of Stored Power.
As a Special Attacker, a Modest Nature is best to ensure it hits as hard as possible with its special attacks.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense. Max out your HP and Sp.Atk EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense.
Giving Slowking Leftovers allows it to heal passively while it's setting up with its moves.
Slowking Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turns 1~3 | Use Stored Power three times to build up Tera Orb Charge. Note: Even if Slowking gets knocked out, it will still retain its Tera Orb Charge. |
Turns 4~6 | Use Amnesia three times to raise Slowking's Special Defense by 6 stages. Note: Make sure to use this move after the Raid Boss resets stats changes. |
Turns 7~9 | Use Nasty Plot three times to raise Slowking's Special Attack by 6 stages. |
Turns 9+ | Use Stored Power to damage the Raid Boss's shield, then terastallize into a Psychic-type and deal boosted damage to finish the battle. |
Start the battlle by using Stored Power three times to build up Tera Orb Charge. Even if Slowking gets knocked out, it will still retain its Tera Orb Charge.
Once the Raid Boss resets all stat changes, use Amnesia three times, and then use Nasty Plot three times to raise Slowking's Special Defense and Special Attack respectively by 6 stages. This gives Slowbro an effective 280 Base Power for its Stored Power.
Once you have enough Tera Orb charge, terastallize into a Psychic-type and use boosted Stored Power to deal damage to the Raid Boss's shield and finish the battle.
Damage Dealt by Slowking |
|
---|---|
Stored Power (260 BP, +6 Sp. Atk, Psychic Tera) 4,556 ~ 5,360 (59.9 ~ 70.5%) |
Super Effective (2x) |
|
---|---|
Not Very Effective (x0.5) | |
No Effect (x0) |
This Slowking Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Poison and Fighting Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Ground, Ghost, and Dark-type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Slowking will be weak to these types.

You need to evolve the Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking in Sword and Shield because you cannot transfer the Galarica Wreath over into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Transfer Pokemon from Pokemon HOME
The item needed to evolve Garian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking can only be obtained in the Crown Tundra. To get the Galarica Wreath, you'll need to trade 15 Galarica Twigs to a woman found in the Roaring-Sea Caves area.
If the Galarian Slowking build you are following requires it to have a different Tera type, you will need to have 50 Tera Shards of the type you need, and bring it to Medali to have your Pokemon's Tera Type changed.
If it has a different nature, you can use Modest Mint to change its nature to Modest.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
If its ability is different from our recommendation, you can use an Ability Capsule to change it.
