No Official Announcement for a Release Date

There is no confirmed official release date for Pokemon Champions. The Pokemon Presents livestream aired last February 27, 2025 showed that the game is now in development but no word on a release date.

Available on the Switch, iOS, and Android

Pokemon Champions will be available on the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. The game also allows you to engage in cross-platform battles between the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. This means that if you have a Switch, you can compete alongside other Switch and mobile players and vice-versa.

Connectivity with Pokemon HOME is Supported

Pokemon Champions was confirmed to support transfers through Pokemon HOME! Trainers can connect to Pokemon HOME to battle with their Pokemon from Pokemon GO, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and other previous titles in the series.

Only a Select Few Pokemon are Available at Launch

Only select Pokémon will be available for use in Pokémon Champions at launch.

This likely means that Pokemon Champions will start with a limited roster and Pokedex which can be expected to expand over time.

Mega Evolutions Make Its Return

Mega Evolutions, a feature not seen since Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, make its reapperance in Pokemon Champions. As seen in the trailer, the trainer's Charizard mega evolves into Mega Charizard X.

Other familar battle mechanics such as double battles and Tera Pokemon were also featured in the trailer.
