A Wild Level 100 Magikarp can be found in a secluded pond in Kitakami's Fellhorn Gorge in the Teal Mask DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to learn where to find the Lv. 100 Magikarp, whether it can evolve, and more about this silly gimmick.
List of Contents
The pond where the Lv. 100 Magikarp can be found is slightly southeast of the Fallen Horn fast-travel location in the Fellhorn Gorge. It's a small pond sectioned off by a portion of land that has a tree on it. The pond can be home to schools of Magikarp and the occassional Gyarados.
By inspecting each of the Magikarp with the ZL button, you'll find ones that range from the high Lv. 50s, to the low Lv. 80s. But as you reset the spawns (such as with the Picnic Method), you may be lucky enough to spawn in a Lv. 100 Magikarp.
If this is your first time here, it'll also be a good idea to pick up the nearby Prism Scale, one of the evolution items added to the Teal Mask DLC. It will be used to evolve the other pathetic fish Pokemon Feebas into the gorgeous Milotic.

Since this spot seems to spawn Magikarp more than any other Water-type Pokemon, this may be a good spot to shiny hunt for one if you're specifically hunting for it.
Shiny Magikarp will easily be visible as its Gold-coloration will have it stand out among the other red ones. The gold will also contrast against the blue background. Improve your odd by preparing a sandwich that will help with your hunt!

It still isn't widely known that you are able to Lv. 100 Pokemon. This mechanic has been around since the Generation 8 games Sword and Shield. To evolve a Lv. 100 Pokemon, all you need to do is give that Pokemon a Rare Candy! Of course it won't become a Lv. 101 Pokemon, but instead evolve if it is able to!
Use this knowledge to easily get yourself a Lv.100 Gyarados from your Lv. 100 Magikarp. And hey, now that you have one, why not set it up to be a strong one with one of our competitive builds?

In case you wanted more for your collection, or even to grab one as a gag trade for a friend, you'll be pleased to know that the Lv. 100 Magikarp does indeed respawn! With one of the highest catch rates among wild Pokemon, it shouldn't be too hard to grab another one! Feel free to reset spawns until another one appears!
A Lv. 100 Magikarp is quite the humorous gag. Finding one of the “weakest” Pokemon, known primarily for its useless trait of flopping and Splashing around to no effect, at the highest level possible is quite ironic.
This silly gimmick first appeared in Pokemon Platinum where it could be found when fishing with a Super Rod in the Resort Area. It again appeared in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2's Nature Preserve where it could also be fished up with the Super Rod.
