Summary

The best ability for Ceruledge is Flash Fire. When hit with a fire-type move, it increases its damage by 50% and becomes immune to possible Fire-type attacks.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Ceruledge with a Fire Tera Type to further increase the damage of Bitter Blade. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would work best for this Pokemon.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's HP and Attack. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. Equip the Pokemon with Metronome to deal more damage when using Bitter Blade conscutively.

This Ceruledge Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Grass, Ice, Bug and Steel Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Rock or Ground Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Ceruledge will be weak to these Types as a Fire Type attacker.

Although Ceruledge is weak to Water Type moves, Sunny Day reduces the damage received by Water Type moves by 50%, making it effectively take neutral damage. If going up against Water Tera Type Pokemon swap out Clear Smog with Solar Blade for one-turn (thanks to Sun) Super Effective damage.

Tera Raid Strategy

Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Strategy
Turns 1~3 Use Swords Dance three times to maximize your Attack stat.
Turn 4 Use Sunny Day to boost Bitter Blade and Flare Blitz' damage.
Optional Use Clar Smog to remove any possible buffs the raid boss might incur.
Turns 5~7 Use Bitter Blade to deal stat-boosted, sun boosted, STAB damage.
Turns 8+ Terastallize and use stat boosted, STAB Flare Blitz to deal massive damage against the energy shield. Use Sunny Day again as needed

Start the battle by using Swords Dance three times, to maximize Ceruledge's Attack, allowing you to deal massive damage against the raid Pokemon. Sunny Day boosts the power of Ceruledge's Fire-type moves, while also reducing the power of Water-type moves that Ceruledge is weak to.

Bitter Blade is best used after setting up with Swords Dance and Sunny Day to deal damage, recover HP, and gain Tera Charge. Flare Blitz, with its high base power, should be used to break through the energy shield.

Best Used for 6-Star Raids

This is a great solo build to use against 6 and 7-Star Tera Raid Pokemon. It is the recommended build to solo 6-Star Blissey for a chance of getting multiple Herba Mystica.

Summary

Ceruledge's Fire and Ghost typing allows it to hit 6 Types for Super Effective with its STAB moves. This type combination also allows Ceruledge to resist Fairy-type attacks like Dazzling Gleam.

Offensively, Ceruledge can set up with Swords Dance to boost its own Attack stat, and Sunny Day to further boost the power of Bitter Blade.

After setting up, Ceruledge can deal damage with Shadow Claw, which has an increased Critical Hit ratio. Bitter Blade is also an effective damage dealing move, allowing Ceruledge to restore HP while dealing damage.

As it will play the role of physical attacker, an Adamant Nature would benefit Ceruledge. You can also let it hold a Shell Bell to help Ceruledge recover some HP when using attacking moves.

Summary

With its Fire and Ghost typing combined with its ability, Flash Fire, Ceruledge can easily resist and even be immune to most things the Raid Boss can throw at it. With this ability, you can ensure that Bitter Blade can hit for harder to heal up any damage you may get.

With the Magician ability and access to Magic Room, holding a Shell Bell isn't as reliable of a held item as it should be for Tera Raids. Ceruledge can circumvent this by having its own recovery move in Bitter Blade.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Ceruledge with a Steel Tera Type to make Iron Head more powerful. This also helps with resisting Psychic and Fairy type moves while still being immune to Fire-Type moves due to Flash Fire. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would work best for this Pokemon.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's HP and Attack. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Equip the Pokemon with Shell Bell to regain HP when using damaging moves.

Tera Raid Strategy

Ceruledge Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turns 1~3 Use Swords Dance three times to maximize Ceruledge's Attack stat.
Turns 4~6 Use Iron Head to build up Tera Orb charge.
Low HP Turns If you're low on HP use Bitter Blade
Turns 7+ Terastallize and keep using Iron Head or Tera Blast to attack. Refresh your buffs if needed.

Start the battle by using Swords Dance three times, to maximize Ceruledge's Attack, allowing you to deal massive damage against the Raid Boss.

Iron Head is best used after setting up with Swords Dance to deal damage and gain Tera Charge. You can use Bitter Blade if you need to heal yourself in a pinch.

Tera Raid Strategy

Turns 1~2 Use Swords Dance two times to increase your Attack stat.

Start the battle by using Swords Dance two times, to boost Ceruledge's Attack, allowing you to deal massive damage against the Raid Pokemon. Bitter Blade heals Ceruledge for a portion of the damage dealt, and benefits from Flash Fire.

Close Combat and Night Slash are Ceruledge's other damaging moves, allowing you to deal at least neutral damage against most types. This should provide you with enough coverage to use Ceruledge as somewhat of a general raid counter Pokemon.

> Use Psycho Cut to deal super effective damage with STAB vs Cinderace. Psycho Cut is not a STAB attack for Ceruledge - it is Fire & Ghost type, no Psychic typing. The move would just be super effective only.
