The Synchro Machine is a new item introduced in the Indigo Disk DLC that lets you Synchronize with your Pokemon and play as them in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to learn more about how to unlock the Synchro Machine, its different features, and how to Synchronize with your Pokemon.
List of Contents
To unlock the ability to Synchronize with your Pokemon, you must first talk to Synclaire at the Central Plaza in the Terarium.
She will have you test out the Synchro Machine, and once her experiments have been completed, you will unlock the ability to freely use it at any time.
Passing Synclaire's Trial, or experiments to be more exact, is rather easy for a useful item! She will have you do these tasks then give you the Synchro Machine:

Description | "A device that synchronizes your mind and feelings with your Pokémon's so that you can work as one. It's still a prototype—hence its unrefined appearance." |

The Synchro Machine is a new item added in the Indigo Disk DLC that allows you to Synchronize with your Pokemon and play as them outside of battle. This feature opens up possibilities that were unthinkable before.
While Synchronized, you will be able to take direct control of your chosen Pokemon and use them to roam around the overworld, battle wild Pokemon, pick up items, and complete BBQs!
You are unable to catch Pokemon while synchronized! If you see a Shiny Pokemon and your Trainer is too far from the area, the Pokemon might despawn if you desynchronize. There is also the chance of accidentally fainting Shinies; best be careful!
Most of the time, Synchronizing helps you travel the overworld quickly. Like in competitive Pokemon, some Pokemon fit modes of movement better than others, so plan your route carefully!

Once the Synchro Machine has been unlocked, hold down the L Button and press the R Button to begin synchronizing with your Pokemon.
To stop using the Synchro Machine, hold down the L Button and press the R Button again and a text should appear confirming if you want to stop using it.
Note that the Synchro Machine only works while you are in the Terarium.
