・ Toxic ・ Substitute ・ Protect |
Has an incredible Defense stat in a Physical attacker meta. Is immune to both Ground and Electric type attacks. Hard to get past both Protect and Substitute. |
Ability | Held Item | |
---|---|---|
Poison Heal | Toxic Orb |
The Ability chosen for Gliscor for this build is Poison Heal. While Gliscor is Poisoned, it will heal for 12.5% of its max hp, which is twice as much as Leftovers healing. Combine this with its fantastic bulk and Gliscor becomes a very difficult Pokemon to remove from battle.
In order to guarantee the healing from its ability, Gliscor will be holding a Toxic Orb so that it can Poison itself. This is also great against Pokemon with Trick because it will dissuade them from swapping your items and poisoning themselves.
Earthquake | Toxic |
Substitute | Protect |
Earthquake is Gliscor's main STAB move. It is the highest damaging STAB move that Gliscor has access to while also having a good offensive coverage.
Toxic will badly poison the target Pokemon and chip away at their health over time.
Substitute gives Gliscor an extra layer of protection in order to help stall out turns and let the poison from Toxic do its damage.
Protect is another way for Gliscor to stall out turns. You also don't have to worry about Rapid Strike Urshifu sets that hold a Punching Glove since Surging Strikes will no longer work with Unseen Fist.
Water Tera Type Matchup | ||
---|---|---|
Weak to: | ||
(2x) | ||
Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Water is the best Tera Type for this build because it turns both of Gliscor's weaknesses into resistances.
A full 252 EV investment in Gliscor's HP and Defensive will help it shrug off the attacks from the many physical attackers in the current metagame. The remaining 4 EVs are put into Sp. Def to help round out its bulk.
An Impish nature is preferred to further increase Gliscor's amazing Defense stat.
Knock Off | A good move against opposing stall Pokemon or Pokemon that are heavily reliant on their item. |

Earthquake | Facade |
Knock Off | Swords Dance |
Earthquake is Gliscor's main STAB move. It is the highest damaging STAB move that Gliscor has access to while also having a good offensive coverage.
Facade is its main coverage move since it will always have its base power doubled thanks to the Poison Heal + Toxic Orb combo.
Knock Off is a good utility option that also deals with opposing Ghost-types that are immune to Facade.
Swords Dance is the final and most important move on this set since Gliscor is fully invested in its bulk and needs the Attack boosts from Swords Dance to threaten knockouts.
Dragon Tera Type Matchup | ||
---|---|---|
Weak to: | ||
(2x) | ||
Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Dragon is the best Tera Type for this build because it allows Gliscor to gain resistances towards the common Fire, Water, and Grass core in the current metagame
Dual Wingbeat | Gliscor's strongest Flying-type STAB move. Replaces Knock Off if you do not need its utility. |
---|---|
Stone Edge | A high damaging Rock-type attack that can threaten any Ice-types that Gliscor is very weak to. |
With the current meta revolving heavily around physical attackers, position Gliscor around Pokemon that cannot easily knock it out in order to get free Swords Dance boosts.
Use Pokemon that can cover for Gliscor's weaknesses, both in its base typing and Tera typing, in order to give it safe turns to setup.
Physical Attacker | Setup Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Ogerpon (Hearthflame Mask) | Gliscor | Dragapult |
Having a Pokemon that can deal with Gliscor's bad matchups is essential to help put it in a safe position to set up Swords Dance. A Pokemon like Hearthflame Ogerpon is ideal to help remove any Water and Ice types that would otherwise threaten Gliscor.
It is also good to have a fast Pokemon like Dragapult to outspeed fast Special Attackers like Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle.
Pokemon | Description |

Iron Bundle | Ranking: ★★★★★

Flutter Mane | Ranking: ★★★★
・One of the fastest Pokemon in the game. ・Target's Gliscor's relatively low Special Defense stat. ▶️ Flutter Mane Best Movesets |
Pokemon | Description |
---|---|
Dondozo | Ranking: ★★★★★
・Unaware ignores Attack boosts from Swords Dance. ・Threatens high damage with Liquidation. ▶️ Dondozo Best Movesets |
Sneasler | Ranking: ★★★
・A Mirror Herb set will copy Swords Dance's Attack boosts. ・Unburden guarantees that it will always outspeed Gliscor. ▶️ Sneasler Best Movesets |
