Press A to talk to a Pokemon Trainer and begin the battle.

Pokemon Trainers are found in almost every area of Paldea. Press the A button to talk to one to start a battle with them

Battle Will Not Start Unless You Talk to Trainers

Unlike previous entries, you do not have to avoid a trainer's line of sight if you do not want to start a battle. You will only start battling a Pokemon Trainer if you talk to them directly.

Battle Pokemon Trainers to Earn Money

Battling Pokemon Trainers is a great way to earn money.

Battling Pokemon Trainers not only lets you level up your Pokemon, but will also reward you with money after every victory. We recommend that you Battle Pokemon Trainers as often as you can during the early game.

Looks like the map for Dalizapa Passage is missing. Two of the trainers on the map for West Province (Area Tree) actually count towards Dalizapa Passage. You do have the reward mentioned (Expert Belt).

The North Province (Area One) map incorrectly identifies the island the trainer is on. It is on the island south of the one depicted, which can be identified by the three dark brown rock formations on it.
