Espeon is a great Stored Power user thanks to its Psychic-typing and high Speed stat. This move increases in base power the more stat boosts Espeon gains, which it can easily achieve with Calm Mind.

Espeon needs to have two Calm Mind boosts to reach 100 Base Power on Stored Power. To ensure that it gets as much boosts as possible, we use Fairy Tera type to give it resistance to Bug and Dark-types while still retaining STAB on its Psychic moves.

Draining Kiss is great support move that allows it to heal off damage and gets STAB from Fairy Tera type. Morning Sun is a more straightforward healing move that heals more during Sunny Day.

Other Viable Moves

Psyshock A good alternative to Draining Kiss that allows Espeon to beat special walls such as Chansey and Blissey.
Baby-Doll Eyes A good support move with +1 priority that lowers the target's Attack stat by one stage.

How to Use Espeon Effectively

A Versatile Check to Defensive Pokemon

Espeon's great speed, high Special Attack, and access to the Magic Bounce Ability makes it a great check against defensive Pokemon that rely on status.

It's also a great setup sweeper and one of the few that can efficiently use Stored Power as its Magic Bounce Ability also protects it from Taunt.

How to Build a Team with Espeon

Espeon is a great addition to hyper offensive teams as its ability to reflect status is highly appreciated by offensive-oriented Pokemon that are easily shut down by Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave.

Chien-Pao is a powerful setup sweeper, but it's easy to shut down with a burn or paralysis. Espeon gives this team utility to face defensive Pokemon, with Magic Bounce reflecting Will-O-Wisps and Thunder Waves back at their user.

Similarly, Gyarados' lack of recovery move means it's very susceptible to status like Toxic or residual damage from Leech Seed. Espeon can pivot in and reflect these moves back at the user, while also giving it opportunity to set up with Calm Mind.

Counters for Espeon

Take Advantage of its Low Defense

Even with HP and some Defense investment, Espeon is very weak against physical attacks. Powerful sweepers, particularly ones with boosting moves, can use Espeon as setup fodder and outright KO it with their boosted moves.
