Type Chart: All Matchups and Effectiveness
Pokemon | Best Moves |
---|---|
Mudsdale | 【Best Moves】 ・ Bulldoze (Lv.12) ・ High Horsepower (Lv.28) Can hit all of the opposing Pokemon with the one Type of move. The Stamina Ability is recommended for this Pokemon. Its previous evolution Mudbray is relatively easy to obtain and evolve. |
Donphan | 【Best Moves】 ・ Bulldoze (Default) Can hit all of the opposing Pokemon with the one Type of move. You can find Donphan's pre-evolution, Phanpy towards the South-East of the map. |
Clodsire | 【Best Move】 ・ Mud Shot (Lv.8) Mudshot hits all of the opposing Pokemon for weakness with the one move. Mudshot also lowers the opponent's speed in addition to dealing damage. Clodsire's part Poison Typing also gives it immunity to the Poison Status Effect making it an excellent choice at this Base. Paldean Wooper is found very early on in the game (before Los Platos) so it would be a great idea to train one up. |
Grumpig | 【Best Moves】 ・ Psybeam (Default) ・ Zen Headbutt (Lv.26) Hits most of the opposing Pokemon with the one Type of move. If you have already caught yourself a Spoink from South Province Area 3, evolve it and try adding Grumpig to your team. |
Utilize Ground Type Pokemon to deal with Atticus' Poison Type Pokemon. Psychic Types also work well, however you need to be mindful of Revavroom's Steel Typing. Overall Clodsire is an excellent counter to Atticus' team as it quad resists Poison Type moves, is immune to the Poison Status Condition and deals STAB super-effective damage to all of the Navi Squad's Pokemon.
List of All Ground Type Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Ability | Effect |
---|---|
Toxic Debris | When hit by a physical move, the Pokemon scatters Toxic Spikes in the opposing field. The effect can activate a maximum of two times. |
Atticus' Starmobile has the ability Toxic Debris, which scatters toxic spikes on your side of the field when hit by a Physical move. Avoid this by hitting the Starmobile with super effective Ground or Psychic Special Attacks, and using Flying-type Pokemon or Pokemon with Levitate which won't be affected by Toxic Spikes.
Pokemon | Level | Type | Recommended Moveset |
---|---|---|---|
Gallade | 32 | ・

・ Night Slash ・ Leaf Blade ・ Thunder Wave |
|
Clodsire | 34 | ・
Poison Tail
・ Mud Shot ・ Amnesia ・ Poison Jab |
|
Skeledirge | 40 | ・
Flamethrower
・ Shadow Ball ・ Round ・ Torch Song |
※ You may only use 3 Pokemon in the Team Star base
Atticus' team have lots of moves that will leave your Pokemon poisoned. As Poison does not heal automatically, prepare plenty of Pecha Berries and/or Poison Heals before attempting this challenge. Pecha berries can be held by a Pokemon to be consumed automatically if they are poisoned.
Alternatively utilizing Clodsire as your main attacker will grant you full immunity to Poison Status thanks to its part Poison Typing, while dealing super effective damage thanks to its part Ground Typing.
If your Pokemon are poisoned, they will be disadvantaged the longer the battle goes. So use your strongest Pokemon and moves to quickly settle the battle. Skeledirge's Torch Song allows you to raise it Special Attack while dealing damage, so can be quite effective. If you have X Attacks or X. SP ATKs , this is the battle to use them.

Team Star Rematch Battles: All STC Rematch Teams Guide
Many of Atticus' Pokemon have moves with either a chance or guarantee to leave the target poisoned. To counter this bring Steel Type Pokemon, which are completely immune to Poison Type attacks. Just be careful of Skuntank and Revavroom, as they both have access to powerful Fire Type moves that are super effective against Steel Types.

The information about the navi starmobile is incorrect. It's moveset is: Swift, Flame Charge, Noxious Torque, and Spin Out (I think, could be a different move for the last one). It also has the ability toxic debris, so steel and poison types are very useful. I recommend orthworm myself.

Sandygast/Palossand is also a decent contender due to its typing (Ghost/Ground), making it a great against Muk and Revaroom due to it's access to Grass moves.
