Ability | Ice Face |

Held Item | Sitrus Berry |
Moveset | ・
Belly Drum
・ Icicle Crash ・ Liquidation ・ Substitute |
This build focuses on using Eiscue's natural defensive capabilities in Ice Face and Substitute in order to set up a Belly Drum for a possible sweep.
Icicle Crash is Eiscue's main damaging move, putting most Pokemon within OHKO range once Eiscue gets the +6 Atk from Belly Drum. Liquidation serves as Eiscue's coverage move against Fire-types, and while it doesn't benefit from STAB, it can still deal decent damage.
The held item Sitrus Berry allows Eiscue to recover HP after using Belly Drum, allowing you to stay in battle longer.
For the Tera Type, Ice Tera is better when running a Snow team, so that you keep the 50% Defense boost by Snowstorm, on top of an extra 50% STAB on Icicle Crash. Water Tera on the other hand, removes your weakness to Fire, and gives you STAB on Liquidation.
Snowscape | Allows Eiscue to set up snow without the help of a teammate. |
---|---|
Ice Spinner | Alternative to Icicle Crash that removes terrain and effective against terrain setters like Arboliva. |
Zen Headbutt | Alternative to Liquidation, which gives Eiscue coverage against Fighting-type Pokemon. |
Damage Dealt by Eiscue |
|
---|---|
Item: Leftovers | +6 Liquidation 224 ~ 264 (108 ~ 127.5%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Item: Leftovers | +6 Icicle Crash 147 ~ 174 (72 ~ 85.2%) Guaranteed 2-Hit KO |
+6 Icicle Crash 270 ~ 320 (125.5 ~ 148.8%) Guaranteed OHKO |
The +6 Atk from Belly Drum gives Eiscue just enough firepower to KO Physical walls like Corviknight and Garganacl within 1~2 hits. These Pokemon are also commonly built with Physical attacks, which means Eiscue can take a free hit from them thanks to Ice Face.
When used as part of a Snow team, Eiscue becomes even more of a threat, with Ice Face being restored a second time, a 50% increase to Defense, and a further 50% damage reduction with Aurora Veil.
With all these boosts present, on top of Belly Drum's +6 Attack, a quick sweep of the enemy team will become much easier.
Eiscue can act as a Physical Attacker for any team, but synergizes extremely well with Snow Teams.
Special Wall | Physical Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Clodsire | Eiscue (Ice Face) | Hydreigon |
This team uses Hydreigon and Clodsire to cover for Eiscue's weaker points, being Special Attack and Special Defense.
Ice Face only shields Eiscue from Physical attacks, so it is important to wall off Special Attackers with Clodsire. Hydreigon serves as the team's Special Attacker, dealing with Physical Walls that aim to wall Eiscue off.
Scout / Physical Attacker | Support | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Eiscue (Ice Face) | Abomasnow | Glaceon |
For this team, Eiscue acts as the lead to scout what your opponent will try to do during the early game. Ice Face allows Eiscue to tank a Physical Attack for free, giving you time to switch out without receiving damage.
Abomasnow's purpose is to set up Snow and Aurora Veil to maximize your team's Defenses, and allow Ice Face to recover when Eiscue switches back out.
Since this team shares the same weaknesses, consider changing either Eiscue or Glaceon's Tera Type, and give it Tera Blast for extra coverage.
Eiscue's Ice Face only shields Physical Attacks, and Special Attacks deal damage to Eiscue directly without breaking the Ice Face.
When Ice Face is active, Eiscue has a base speed of 50, which means it will not outspeed your Pokemon.
