Rewards |
7-Star Empoleon Defeat "Empoleon the Unrivaled" in a Black Crystal Tera Raid during the event and you'll get a Ice Tera Type Empoleon with the Mightiest Mark. Treasures and Battle Items Obtain various items which you can use to build battle-ready Pokemon or sell in stores for money. |
Unlock Requirements |
Unlock 6-Star Tera Raid Battles to Participate To do this, you'll need to complete the Academy Ace Tournament, then do 8-10 4-Star or 5-Star Raids until you get a call from Jacq. |
Round 2 of the special 7-star Tera Raid Event featuring Empoleon with the Ice Tera Type is now over!
Empoleon with the Mightiest Mark, the featured Pokemon for this event, could only be caught once. However, you can still participate in this event even after you've caught Empoleon if you want to get more of its rewards.
Just like previous 7-Star Tera Raid events, the 7-Star Empoleon Raid Dens would only spawn in Paldea. If you haven't purchased The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, no need to worry as the Raid Den cannot appear in Kitakami or the Terarium. You also don't need to do the Mochi Mayhem Epilogue in order to start this raid.

Competitive is Empoleon's Hidden Ability and will activate every time any of its stats are lowered. Make sure to avoid letting Empoleon stack up on Sp. Atk buffs as it will mean a quick and easy defeat for your party!
Competitive Effect and Pokemon With This Ability
Try to use moves like Skill Swap or Worry Seed in order to fully lock Empoleon out from buffing itself. Using Pokemon with the ability, Unaware could also work.
Skill Swap TM Location (TM098) and Pokemon That Learn It
While useful in other Tera Raids, NPC Allies that have debuffing abilities and moves are extremely dangerous to have in this raid. Examples like the Staraptor, Paldean Tauros, and even Arcanine are some examples.
Due to the level difference between NPC Allies and 7-Star Tera Raid Bosses, they can get easily knocked out and repeatedly debuff Empoleon, activating its Competitive Ability multiple times.

All Raid Power Sandwich Recipes
Empoleon normally cannot be found in Paldea, making the 7-Star Event Empoleon quite the catch, but you have to fight it in a Black Crystal Tera Raid.
These raids are tough, so trainers will have to prepare in advance. It's also recommended to complete the post-game before you participate. Players who are in earlier points of the game can still join via Link Code, but it is highly discouraged since these 7-Star raids will be extremely difficult.
How to Unlock 6-Star Raids and List of Pokemon
Remember that Black Tera Raid symbols on the map do not come in any other color except black. Meanwhile, normal Tera Raid symbols are colored according to the Tera Type of the Pokemon in them.
When you're looking for the Tera Raid with the 7-Star Empoleon, keep your eyes peeled for a Black Tera Raid symbol on the map with the Ice-type icon.
Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles
You are able to join Event Raid Dens online. When the event is live, you can use our Tera Raid Board to coordinate a team to take it down!
To participate in the event with other players, you must have a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, which is bought separately from the game.
Multiplayer Modes: All New Co-Op Adventure and Connectivity Options
