Carmine

Carmine, the elder sister of Kieran, is a strong-willed girl who can be a little selfish at times. She deeply cares about her brother, despite not being the best at showing it. She can come off as a bit cold towards people from other regions.

She appears in the The Teal Mask DLC and the The Indigo Disc DLC alongside her brother, Kieran.

Kieran

Kieran, the younger brother of Carmine, is more reserved and gentle when compared to his older sibling. He is usually hiding behind his older sister, but it seems as though he is curious about the protagonist.

He appears in the The Teal Mask DLC and the The Indigo Disc DLC alongside his sister, Carmine.

Director Cyrano

Cyrano is a new character that is introduced in Part 2 of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero - The Indigo Disk. He is the flamboyant Director of Blueberry Academy, similar to how Director Clavell is for Naranja/Uva Academy.

Briar

Briar is a character that first appeared in The Teal Mask DLC and will make her return in The Indigo Disk DLC. She visits Naranja/Uva Academy in the Paldea Region to supervise the school trip to Kitakami. She is interested in researching the Terastal Phenomenon which will be further explored in events of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

Perrin

Perrin is a character that will first appear in The Teal Mask DLC and will make a return in The Indigo Disk DLC. She is a traveling photographer looking to take a photo of a certain Pokemon in the Timeless Woods.

She also prompts the search and capture of the Paradox Legendaries in Area: Zero during the events of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

Lacey

Lacey is a second-year student lauded for her battling skills with Fairy-types. She is the first character you meet and introduces you to the Doubles Battle format dominant in the BB Academy. She will also tour you around Blueberry Academy.

Crispin

Crispin enjoys two things, food, and passionate battles! After Crispin's school activities, he often cooks a hearty meal for his fellow Elite Four. Crispin also cooks the Player with his Fire-type Pokemon!

Amarys

Amarys is another student you meet in Blueberry Academy as one of the BB Elite Four. Like her affinity towards Steel-types, she has a cold and tactful demeanor. Despite that, she cares about her friends underneath that ironclad exterior.

Drayton

Drayton may act a bit laid back, but he can more than hold his own when it comes to Pokemon battling with his Dragon-types. He is said to skip classes often and is rumored to have repeated a year thrice already.

Florian and Juliana

A young trainer starting on their journey of the Paldea Region for their Academy's "Treasure Hunt" Independent Study. Florian and Juliana sport uniforms that match the color of their school, wearing the Naranja Academy Uniform in Pokemon Scarlet and the Uva Academy Uniform in Pokemon Violet.

They are also highly customizable, so your in-game character doesn't need to resemble the images shown above!

Nemona

Nemona is Paldea's youngest Pokemon Champion and serves as a guide on your adventures in the Paldea region. She is your main companion in the Victory Road Storyline, as well as your rival!

Arven

Arven is one of the player's upperclassmen at the Academy. He is your main companion in the Path of Legends Storyline as you search for Herba Mystica guarded by Titan Pokemon.

While not good at Pokémon battles, Arven is highly proficient at cooking and is looking for healthy recipes to make Pokémon feel better.

Penny

One of your classmates. Very shy, she does not come to the academy that often. Penny stands out due to the Eevee bag that she always carries. You'll see more of her in the Starfall Street Storyline!

Clavell

The director of the Naranja Academy (Pokémon Scarlet) or Uva Academy (Pokémon Violet) in Mesagoza City, who is strict but kind to his students. Director Clavell happens to be a good friend to both Professor Sada and Professor Turo.

His uniform changes depending on the version of the game you play. The director also has a great interest in the activities of the group of delinquents known as Team Star.

A first in the mainline Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet features two different professors that are exclusive depending on the version of the game you play. Professor Sada appears in Pokemon Scarlet while Professor Turo appears in Pokemon Violet.

In both games, they are investigating the mysterious Great Crater of Paldea, also known as Area Zero. They will also task you with nursing the legendary Pokemon Koraidon or Miraidon back to health.

Jacq is the player's homeroom and Biology teacher at the Academy. Though slightly airheaded except when it comes to his research, he also developed the Pokédex App for Rotom Phones.

Nurse Miriam

Nurse Miriam is the sweet and caring school nurse at the academy. Most of the time, she's bored, and will want to hear about your adventures from time to time.

Team Star is the main villainous group in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. They consist of different squads, each with their own boss for you to battle.

Giacomo is the boss of Team Star's Dark Crew, the Segin Squad. He also performs music under the name DJ Vice. While Giacomo used to be student council president, he now cares more about his crew and is dedicated to Team Star.

Mela is one of the bosses of Team Star, specifically of its Fire crew, the Schedar Squad. Her devotion to completing anything she puts her mind to earned her the trust of her teammates.

Atticus

Atticus is the boss of Team Star's Poison Crew, the Navi Squad. He has a Shakespearean manner of speech and old-fashioned tastes, but is also skilled in the ways of the Ninja and the use of Poison-type Pokemon.

Ortega is the rich and bratty boss of Team Star's Fairy Crew, the Ruchbah Squad. He's Team Star's resident mechanic and dislikes being on the front lines. But get him angry, and his short fuse will prompt him to face you head-on in battle.

Don't let her age cause you to underestimate this kid. Poppy is the Elite Four's Steel-type Pokemon specialist and an overall child prodigy. Though she looks barely half your character's age, she's already one of the Paldea region's strongest trainers.

You've faced him before as a Gym Leader, and now you have to face him again as a member of the Elite Four. In your match with him, Larry will be packing a team of Flying-Type Pokemon... because his boss told him to.

Hassel

He might've been your passionate Art teacher back at the Academy, but don't think Hassel will hold back in your Elite Four match with him. He specializes in powerful Dragon-type Pokemon, so make sure to bring along counters like Ice and Fairy-type Pokemon.

Geeta

Geeta is the chairwoman of Paldea's Pokémon League, which operates the region’s Pokémon Gyms. She also has her eyes on you because of your promising talent. Since she's the region's strongest trainer, it's up to you to beat her and prove you are deserving of the Champion rank.

Other Characters

Your Mom

Your own mom, who enrolled you at the Academy and is one of the very first people you'll meet in the game. Whenever you drop by your house, speak to her to rest your Pokemon. She'll also occasionally give you new sandwich recipes that you can make during your adventures in Paldea.

Heath

The leader of the first successful expedition into the Great Crater of Paldea. Heath is not present in the game itself, but is an important character in its backstory, as he is the author of the Scarlet/Violet Book which gives much of the background info on Area Zero and its denizens.

Technology Enthusiast

A staple in mainline Pokemon games, this unnamed NPC is often seen in the first town and talks about how technology or science is amazing when interacted with.

Friendship Checker

Another common type of NPC in Pokemon games, the Friendship Checker tells you how high your Friendship Level is with a specific Pokemon. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Friendship Checker is located in Cascarrafa City, near the fountain.
