Crunch
・ Seed Bomb ・ Sucker Punch ・ Growth |
This set aims to use Growth to set up its offense and attempt to sweep through unprepared teams. Growth + Booster Energy's Attack boost puts Brute Bonnet at +2 Attack. Crunch and Seed Bomb are Brute Bonnet's primary STAB Moves, with Sucker Punch as a Priority Option.
Tera Dark further boosts Brute Bonnet's damage output, while ridding it of its weaknesses from its Grass typing.
Spore | Spore is always a useful move to have. Accurate and consistent sleep can put a wrench in your opponent's gameplan. |

Moveset | ・
Sucker Punch
・ Seed Bomb ・ Rage Powder ・ Spore |
Brute Bonnet's typing gives it a resistance to Ground and an immunity to Psychic, which is useful for going up against Pokemon like Garchomp.
Sucker Punch is a good Dark-type Priority Move, however it can be rendered useless by quicker Priority Move users. Still, it is a decent move to have as it allows Brute Bonnet to move ahead of faster Pokemon. Alternatively, Crunch can be run insteadd of Sucker Punch.
Seed Bomb is Brute Bonnet's other STAB Move, which lets it take huge chunks out of Grass-weak Pokemon like Dondozo.
Rage and Spore are its support moves of choice, but Brute Bonnet does not always have to be limited to being just 'offensive Amoonguss'. It can run Taunt in place of one of these Moves.
Tera Poison is Brute Bonnet's Tera Type of choice, as it allows it to resist Fairy, Poison, Bug and Fighting, which it usually take super-effective damage from.
Taunt | Taunt is useful for denying setups from your opponent. This is good against Trick Room setters who typically have protection from Priority Moves, because Brute Bonnet's Taunt won't have Priority. |

Item: Booster Energy | Dazzling Gleam with -1 Special Defense from Beads of Ruin 116 ~ 138 (62 ~ 73.7%) Guaranteed 2-Hit KO |
Item: Booster Energy | Heat Wave with -1 Special Defense from Beads of Ruin 272 ~ 324 (145.4 ~ 173.2%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Brute Bonnet has a high enough base Attack Stat that it can be a proper attacker in most teams. It can exert offensive pressure with its STAB Moves, but can be walled by Dark and Steel-types.
Much like Amoonguss, Brute Bonnet also has access to both Spore and Rage Powder, two very useful moves in Double Battles. Brute Bonnet can make use of these to protect its teammates on turns that it does not need to go on the offensive.
Paradox Pokemon Builds for Competitive Battles and Tera Raids
Brute Bonnet is best in teams that can cover its weaknesses. Defensive switch-ins and answers to Brute Bonnet's threats are good to have alongsidde it.
Physical Attacker | Special Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Brute Bonnet | Sylveon | Heat Rotom |
Brute Bonnet has a difficult time against Dark, Grass and Steel-type Pokemon. Sylveon and Heat Rotom handily check these weaknesses with Sylveon being a good matchup against Dark-type Pokemon and Heat Rotom being good against both Grass and Steel-types. These teammates are also good switch-ins for Brute Bonnet, allowing it to leave the field and fight again later on in the match.

Support / Physical Attacker | Support / Physical Attacker |
Arcanine | Corviknight |
Brute Bonnet, much like Amoonguss, can redirect super-effective damage away from its teammates with Rage Powder. Gyarados, Arcanine, and Corviknight all appreciate the redirection. Additionally, Brute Bonnet can exert offensive pressure, something that Amoonguss cannot do.
While Brute Bonnet is better than Amoonguss offensively, it does struggle defensively with its added weaknesses brought on by its Dark-typing. Its mediocre defenses also doesn't do it any favors, as faster offensive Pokemon can just come in and knock it out.
