Summary

Pokeball IconAmazing Sun setter. Synergizes well with Past Paradox Pokemon.

Pokeball IconAccess to Fake Tears and Nasty Plot makes it a decent attacker.

Pokeball IconWeather Ball becomes a 100 BP Fire type move under Sun.

The best ability for Ninetales in Tera Raid Battles is Drought. This will power up Ninetales' Fire type moves while also lowering damage dealt by Water type moves. With the use of Weather Ball, Ninetales effectively has a 100 BP Fire Type move under Sun.

Ninetales also gets access to Nasty Plot and Fake Tears, amazing buffing moves that will allow Ninetales to consistently deal damage.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Ninetales with a Fire Tera Type to boost the damage of Ninetales' Weather Ball. As a Special Attacker, a Modest Nature would be best to ensure it hits as hard as possible with its special moves.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense. Max out your Sp.Def and Sp.Atk EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into HP. Give it a Shell Bell to help Ninetales recover HP when it attacks.

Tera Raid Strategy

Ninetales Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turns 1~3 Use Fake Tears to lower the raid boss' Sp. Def.
Turns 4~6 Use Nasty Plot to max out your Sp. Atk.
Low HP Turns Use Weather Ball to heal yourself with your Shell Bell.
Sun Dissipates Use Sunny Day to set Sun back up.
Turns 5+ Attack with Weather Ball. Terastallize when you are able to.

Start the Tera Raid by setting up your buffs with Nasty Plot and Fake Tears gauge the Raid Boss' behavior to see how it likes to clear buffs and react accordingly.

Make sure to use Sunny Day again once it runs out and then deal damage with Weather Ball while also building up Tera Orb Charge. When you have enough Tera Orb charge, terastallize into a Fire-type and keep using Weather Ball to damage the Tera Raid boss' shield and finish it off!

This Tera Raid Build for using Ninetales is an effective counter to Grass, Bug, Ice, and Steel Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Ground, Rock or Water Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Ninetales will be weak to these Types.

Summary

Pokeball IconAmazing Sun setter. Synergizes well with Past Paradox Pokemon.

Pokeball IconAccess to Fake Tears and Helping Hand makes it an amazing choice as a Sp Atk support.

Pokeball IconCan deal decent damage with Weather Ball.

The best ability for Ninetales in Tera Raid Battles is Drought. This will power up the team's Fire type moves while also lowering damage dealt by Water type moves. With the use of Weather Ball, Ninetales effectively has a 100 BP Fire Type move under Sun.

This build focuses on helping out allies' damage with Fake Tears and Helping Hand to deal the most damage that they could. If you don't need to do so, you also have an option to attack instead with Weather Ball.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Ninetales with a Fire Tera Type but as you're most likely not Terastallizing if you're running support. As a Support, a Calm Nature would be best to ensure it can take Special Attack hits.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense. Max out your Sp.Def and Sp.Atk EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into HP. Give it a Heat Rock to stretch out the amount of turns Sun is up.

Tera Raid Strategy

Ninetales Tera Raid Situational Strategies
Debuffer Help the other attackers by debilitating The Raid Boss with Fake Tears
Buffer Make sure the team is sufficiently buffed with Helping Hand to buff Special attacks!
Attacker Once you set up your buffs and debuffs, you can pivot into attacking with Weather Ball.
Weather Setter Keep Sun up using Sunny Day.

This Build focuses setting up Sun with Drought and Sunny Day. This will help out other Fire type attackers and other Pokemon that could benefit from having Sun up.

You can then debuff the Raid boss by using Fake Tears to shred its Sp.Def. You can also use Cheers to help out the party with buffs or healing.

After your debuffs have been set, you can pivot into an attacking role in order to help dish out damage with Weather Ball.

Alternative Moves

Ninetales is an amazing Pokemon moveset lets it focus on supporting ally Pokemon. Here's some moves we could recommend that could help in certain types of raids.

Move Case
Charm and Will-O-Wisp Great to use on Raid Bosses who prefer to attack with Physical Attacks. You can focus on having Defense EVs instead if needed.
Howl Another great move to raise allies' Attack stat.
Snarl Defensive option that let's it shred the opponent's Sp. Atk.
Solar Beam Great alternative to Weather Ball if the opponent is a Water Tera Type (but not naturally a Water Pokemon). Feel free to change your Tera Type to Grass if need be.
Tail Whip Can replace Fake Tears if an ally prefers to attack with Physical Attacks.
