Players can pick their name, gender, and skin color at the start of the game but they cannot be changed once these choices are confirmed.
Character Customization and All Appearance Options
Once you pick and confirm your birthday at any Pokemon Center, you won't be able to change it anymore. So make sure you got the correct one down! The Pokemon Center staff will ask you once to check your birthday before confirming it, so double-check it first.
NPCs sometimes give players valuable gifts like Pokemon eggs and the infamous Master Ball that guarantees a catch no matter which Pokemon you throw it at.
These events only happen once and when you've already gotten them from the NPC, they won't give you another one.
While you can change your profile picture, you cannot change your ID number. or Name. If you want to reroll for a specific ID number, you'll need to delete your save data to try for a new one.
Players can only get 1 starter per save file. Getting the other two isn't impossible but it requires having another Nintendo Switch and a copy of the game or a friend you can trade with.
If you fight a legendary Pokemon and end up making them faint, or your party gets wiped out, you will permanently miss out on the chance to catch them.
Players should save their game first before trying to catch a Legendary Pokemon. If in case you black out or you accidentally make the Legendary Pokemon faint, you can go back to this save file and try again.
Don't worry about Miraidon and Koraidon, though; they'll already be in your possession as ride mounts near the very start of the game.
Some Pokemon can only be obtained through one-time events in the game, like from Mystery Gifts. So you might not be able to get them again if something goes wrong during the process.
Some NPCs will ask players for a Pokemon in exchange for another but it can only be done once. Players can't retrade with them to get their Pokemon back.
The Pokemon players will receive usually matches the level of the Pokemon they gave up during the trade. They also have a set Nature, Ability, and held item, so rerolling doesn't affect them.
If you beat the Gym Leader of a specific Gym, you won't be able to fight any Gym Trainers you did not battle with beforehand. That means you'll miss out on getting extra money and XP for your Pokemon. So make sure to fight all the Gym Trainers at a specific Gym to Maximize your rewards!
You can challenge Gym Leaders again once you cleared the game. They'll be stronger than the first time you fought them, however, so watch out!
After beating Titan Pokemon the first time, you can rematch them once. If you defeat them during the rematch, they won't respawn afterward. So make sure you keep them alive during the rematch and catch them there!
Stony Cliff Titan: Klawf | Lurking Steel Titan: Orthworm | False Dragon Titan: Tatsugiri |

Block | Headbutt | Icy Wind (Can learn via TM) |
The Titan Pokemon can learn moves that it normally can't such as the Titan Klawf which learns Block.
Be careful removing these moves as it's not possible to relearn this move if you decide to forget and replace it!
Once you beat the Elite Four, you cannot rematch them. You'll also miss out on talking with Rika and Poppy, so make sure to interact with them if you want to see their dialogue before beating them!
While it may seem that certain dialogue choices will affect the way the story may play out, this is not the case. All dialogue choices will not affect the ending so choose what feels best for you!
Saving before an encounter with a Legendary Pokemon or before choosing your starter will allow you to reroll its Nature and IVs (Individual Values). As the Nature and IVs of Pokemon are reset on each encounter, it's possible to reset repeatedly until you have obtained the Nature and IVs of your choosing.
