Shell Bell |
Levitate is the only ability Mesprit can have. To maximize its potential in raids, you can use it together with an ally with Psychic Terrain, which Mesprit can then enjoy after using Skill Swap to remove Levitate from itself.
We also recommend getting a Mesprit with a Psychic Tera Type since it will improve the power of its Psychic-type Stored Power. As an Attacker with a focus on Special Moves, a Modest nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards Bulky Special Attacker. Max out Mesprit's HP and Sp.Atk EVs while adding the remaining 4 EVs into Defense so that Mesprit can hit as hard as possible with Stored Power and Draining Kiss.
For this build, giving it a Shell Bell allows it to recover health while dealing damage.
Mesprit Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Nasty Plot once to boost your Sp. Atk. |
Optional | If Psychic Terrain is active, use Skill Swap to boost your Psychic type Moves. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Mystical Power to build Tera Orb Charges while also raising your Sp. Atk. |
Turns 5+ | Terastallize and use Stored Power or you can max out your Sp. Atk by using Mystical Power one more time. |
The bread and butter of this build is to use Mystical Power to build Tera Orb charges to power up Stored Power. Nasty Plot is added to the kit to get to max Sp. Atk buffs faster.
Skill Swap is used when you know one of your Raid Party members is carrying Psychic Terrain. You can swap out the move with either Light Screen or Reflect for added bulk.

This Mesprit Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Poison and Fighting Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Dark, Bug, or Ghost Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Mesprit will be weak to these Types as a Psychic-Type attacker.

Unlike the other Lake Guardians, interacting with Mesprit doesn't start an encounter. Instead, it will exit the cavern and start roaming the Sinnoh Region. Interacting with Mesprit automatically adds it to the Pokedex.
The Marking Map app on the Poketch will show you which area Mesprit roamed to. This makes it easier to track it down even if it runs away from battle.
Mesprit is one of the Pokemon you can find and catch during your Dynamax Adventures in The Crown Tundra DLC.
Mesprit can be found inside a cavern in the middle of Lake Verity at Obsidian Fieldlands. It is one of three Pokemon you need to capture to complete Mission 21: Plate of the Lakes
