Story Walkthrough

What is Disobedience?

Pokemon Will Not Follow Orders

Disobedient Pokemon will most likely ignore your orders and not move during a turn, or refuse to fight even during Auto-Battle mode. This will leave your Pokemon vulnerable, as they're unable to do anything against your opponents.

Obedient Pokemon Raised Will Stay Obedient

Pokemon that you've caught below the Level limit will always listen to you, even after they've been raised to exceed the level limit. As an example, even if you do not have a badge, a Pokemon you've caught below Lv. 25 will always listen to you, even after they exceed Level 25.

However, if you try to use Pokemon that were caught beyond the level limit, they are more likely to disobey you. Make sure that the Pokemon you catch do not exceed the maximum level allowed by your current number of badges. If you insist on catching them, you'll have to earn more badges before they obey.

How to Make Pokemon Obey You

Raise Obedience by Gaining Gym Badges

Progress Tracker - Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)

For high-leveled Pokemon to follow your battle commands, the number of gym badges that you have acquired must be high enough relative to the Pokemon's level.

You can acquire badges by defeating Gym Leaders in a Pokemon battle. The more badges you get, the higher the Obedience Levels of your Pokemon.

The Star and Titan Badges you can earn from the Starfall Street and Path of Legends storylines don't raise obedience levels but simply mark your progress. Don't mistake them for having the same effect as Gym Badges on your Obedience Level.
